Hello Toy Runners, I’m pleased to join you again to discuss our recent toy finds! I took advantage of Migs Mayfield being on clearance at Target to build up my mudtrooper army. I also got the 332nd Clone Troopers from Amazon, and I took the opportunity to revisit my Captain Vaughn custom. Check it out!
Hello everyone! Several Tuesdays have passed since the last TRT, but I’m back, baby! More like I’m back from having a baby… I’ve been on paternity leave these last 3 weeks. While I wish it was longer, I must return to my regular duties, which also means I have time again to write Toy Run articles. I hope to see lots of comments here and in the coming weeks! I didn’t have a lot of time to hunt, but I still received quite a few toys in the mail. Click here to take a look!
The Star Wars “Saga” line is officially two decades old. We’re revisiting all of the figures that made up this unprecedented lineup. Today, we continue with 2002’s Star Wars “Saga” [Phase I] Clone Trooper (’02 #17) figure. Check out the new review template, the all-new Photo Gallery, the rewritten review, and the other content we updated as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the line that supported Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones.

Another one of the many great divides in The Vintage Collection is the Clone Trooper (VC45) figure. Some think it looks like a realistic version of the characters from The Clone Wars television series. Others feel it is a perfect 3.75″ encapsulation of the characters seen during the Battle of Geonosis in Attack Of The Clones. A wise repack in The Vintage Collection “2.0” lineup in our opinion, the figure finally comes with Photo Real, a flatter matte paint job, and significantly revised packaging. We took the time to break it all down for you by producing an all-new 92-image gallery complete with both versions featured, comparison shots, dioramas, and a breakdown of what separates the 2011 version from the 2020 new release in the Collector Notes. Check out this excellently updated figure in our RDRs now! There’s more difference here than you may realize.
Frustrated collectors often joke about how many repeat action figures we’re getting in The Vintage Collection. It’s become a chronic issue, that many are relabeling the second coming of The Vintage Collection as “The Repack Collection.” Yet, there is a great divide in opinion on how beneficial these repacks are. Getting decade-old action figures updated with Photo Real is a huge benefit in my eyes. And many of the action figures Hasbro chooses to re-release are classics, and I feel deserve another stab at retail. (more….)

Take a look at this! Two figures from the most recent wave are in stock now on Amazon. Unfortunately The Mandalorian and the Remnant Stormtrooper are still unavailable. Hopefully, Cara and the clone coming in stock like this means that the others will be up shortly. Don’t forget Amazon is delaying non-essential items, so free shipping is about a week right now. You can purchase these in-stock figures by clicking below:
JTA reader and friend Russ T. found the latest wave of The Vintage Collection in the Plainfield NJ area of the country. While not hitting everywhere at the moment, the reports are consistent. Let us know if you’ve found this great wave too!

I am trying my best not to have an aneurysm after learning today’s news that Hasbro is re-releasing the plain white infantry Clone Trooper (VC45) figure from The Vintage Collection, another one of their many repacks for the line we discovered today. I’m shaking my head in disbelief. You have to wonder if they have any understanding of the line, or if they really listen to us after claiming they do. If they decided to re-release this figure’s sculpt, then why the heck did they not choose to go with the Clone Captain (red) or Clone Commander (yellow) that we’ve been waiting a decade to receive? Hasbro, if you have any mercy on our nerves, PLEASE skip the all-white Clone Trooper and get these Clone Officers out in the line first. It’s a stat emergency! It’s an action figure CODE RED (and YELLOW)! It’s way beyond the threshold of pain that we’ve been waiting for these figures. What’s the issue?
