We should have liked The Black Series [Return Of The Jedi 40] Chewbacca figure better than we did. It looks like a figure from 2000. (more….)
We’re catching up on TVC reissues! The Return Of The Jedi Saelt-Marae reissue doesn’t look all that different from its original release. However, there are some changes here. This figure also has the distinction of being the only TVC 2.0 figure that received a re-release. Hasbro got it out to collectors again to celebrate Return Of The Jedi 40. We took the time to summarize all the new details for you by producing an all-new 68-image gallery complete with comparison shots and a breakdown of what separates the 2019 version from the 2023 reissue in the Collector Notes. See this impressive figure updated in our RDRs now! There’s more difference here than you may realize.
We’re catching up on TVC reissues! Unfortunately, the Return Of The Jedi Nikto (Skiff Guard) figure reissue is a disappointment. Although Hasbro fixed the mismatched knee and ankle joints, they messed up the deco on the head sculpt. It is now too flat and much darker. They should have lightened this action figure’s skin color many shades instead. We took the time to summarize all the new details for you by producing an all-new 68-image gallery complete with comparison shots and a breakdown of what separates the 2012 version from the 2023 reissue in the Collector Notes. We’re catching up on TVC reissues! The Return Of The Jedi Wooof figure reissue looks remarkable. The revised paint operations look excellent, and this time the skin is bright green. Hasbro also changed other details on the figure, including half-toning deco on the legs. We took the time to break it all down for you by producing an all-new 64-image gallery complete with comparison shots and a breakdown of what separates the 2010 version from the 2023 reissue in the Collector Notes. Now let’s look at the Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) figure from the Retro Collection line. Do you know this figure’s secret? (more….)
Did you know Hasbro retooled the upper legs of Princess Leia Organa (Boushh) to make it shorter and closer to screen accuracy? The figure also received beautiful Photo Real updating and an all-new cape. See these things and more in today’s look at the latest figures in The Black Series Archive line. (more….)

Welcome to another entry in our The Vintage Collection: The Ninety Six column. Hasbro recently committed to collectors that they will be “focusing” on characters in The Vintage Collection that fall under “The Ninety Six” banner. If you’re new to this, it means that there needs a modern counterpart for every classic Kenner figure. Between 2020 and 2021, Hasbro’s made an admirable effort by focusing on these characters. But there is more work to be done, and we’ll figure out where we are step by step. Today we assess Yak Face.

Hasbro is doing everything to secure a successful campaign for the HasLab The Black Series 6-inch Rancor. But is the effort futile? With lackluster stretch goals and outrageous backer landmarks before you’re entitled to them, this HasLab is souring the customer base. It’s evident Hasbro is in damage-control and panic mode. (more….)
It seems as if Hasbro may become the Rancor’s next meal.

In 1984, new packaging for Star Wars figures was introduced for the European market. A cost containment initiative, the new packaging sported three languages of the Return Of The Jedi logo for a “one size fits all” approach. Although a “three-logo” design was created for The Power Of The Force line (as evidenced on some ‘boxed’ toys), it wasn’t carried over to the basic figure line’s card design. They continued to use the three Return Of The Jedi logos instead. Although the word “Trilogo” is found nowhere on the packaging, the term is universally adopted by all Star Wars collectors to describe this line of figures.
We are finishing the Trilogo line up with the final 15 The Power Of The Force Kenner figures, and there weren’t any coins provided with them. Today we revisit Yak Face. The Trilogo version has a darker wash. See the full card art and additional notes by revisiting 1985’s THE POWER OF THE FORCE Yak Face figure HERE.

Today we revisit Rancor Keeper. The Trilogo card art is different than the Kenner version, with the most notable difference of the light blue background. The figure’s name was also changed to Rancor Keeper (Gardien du Rancor Monster) for the Trilogo release.
