Eagle-eyed RDRs readers may have noticed some of our banners changing for a couple of The Power Of The Force “2” lines. Previously, we organized everything by (1) “Red” packaging, (2) “Green/Freeze Frame” packaging and then by (3) “CommTech/FlashBack” packaging. However, recently adding the Collector Series and Action Collection 12″ figures posed some organizing complications for us, and it’s necessitated a reorganization in the categories. Going forward, the lines will be organized by (1) The Power Of The Force “2” [Red/Green] (which includes all POTF2 products prior to the 1998 Freeze Frame launch and all Collector Series 12″ figures). (2) The Power Of The Force “2” [Freeze Frame/The Kenner Collection] (which includes all POTF2 Freeze Frame figures, anything with a “The Kenner Collection” logo on it, and all “green” Action Collection 12″ figures. And finally (3) The Power Of The Force “2” [FlashBack/CommTech] (which remains unchanged). The latter line also houses Action Collection 12″ figures in the “starburst” packaging (used for FlashBack and CommTech 3.75″ figures). Shadows Of The Empire and Expanded Universe continue to maintain their own categories and also remain unchanged. Thank you for reading!

If you’re a daily reader of our RDRs column, you know that we’re finishing up the fan-favorite Shadows Of The Empire collection from 1996. We also decided to update and expand the galleries for some of the figures we reviewed in the past. Some examples include Chewbacca (In Bounty Hunter Disguise), Leia (In Boushh Disguise) and Luke Skywalker (In Imperial Guard Disguise). We’ve added complete figure images in addition to dioramic group shots. You should check them out because it took us a long time to redo them. Thank you for your current interest in this line. We are getting great interactions from so many of you, and it appears you’ve enjoyed the Shadows Of The Empire line as much as we have. New reviews for other products in this line continue tomorrow.

If you were collecting the modern Star Wars toy line “back in the day,” you’ll remember the exciting storyline of Shadows Of The Empire, a series of events that took place in between The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. During the multimedia event, Kenner produced a line of toys in support of the story, and it went over hugely with collectors. So we ask today. Is there any interest to see these characters update in The Vintage Collection and The Black Series 6″ lines? Let us know in the comments.
