YouTube Channel FXitinPost has released their very own reimagining and recreation of the duel on the Death Star between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. While the original duel was quite static and short, this reimagined duel adds many new scenes and is more in line with what we saw in the prequels or in Rogue One. Some of the CGI does look a bit wonky here and there (this is made by fans who don’t have the budget of ILM), but the overall result is quite impressive. How do you like this reimagined scene?

We have a sneak peek of the first wave of Retro Collection figures for you to see. I love these things. But what a shame that Hasbro didn’t launch this line for the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. I hope they take the line as far as possible. Droids, Ewoks, unproduced vintage Kenner figures are only the beginning. And I would LOVE to see 1985 The Power Of The Force figures added as well. Right now they’re exclusively available at TARGET beginning May 12th, but they will have more widespread availability later this year in the Fall. Check them out and leave your thought about them in our review pages!

We have a sneak peek of the Escape From Death Star Game with exclusive Retro Collection Grand Moff Tarkin figure. The set is nicer than expected. The key selling point here is the exclusive Grand Moff Tarkin figure obviously, but it’s also nice to get a modern chance at buying this old board game once again. I was thinking about the potential of The Retro Collection line, and the more I thought about, the more I likened it to the Hasbro equivalent of the “Infinities” comics. What would the vintage Kenner line have looked like if Grand Moff Tarkin (and others) were part of it? Because of this, I posed Grand Moff Tarkin alongside Kenner’s 1978 Star Wars figures and playsets, including the Death Star. The nostalgia this line creates is something that all original collectors will thoroughly enjoy. And the Retro Collection beautifully complements The Vintage Collection. Oh, and what about that sticker? If you recall, JTA reported that it was indeed a sticker and we pondered the ease of its removability. Simply put, the sticker is indeed easy to remove. You’ll need to be patient as it takes a couple of minutes to peel it off slowly, but it is possible not to damage the card back if you decide to do this. In the meantime, check out our early Photo Gallery of the boardgame and the figure. I can’t wait to see what Hasbro does with this line going forward. Bring on the Sandtrooper, the Rebel Fleet Trooper, and a black Death Star Droid! And so many others too!

Or maybe we’ll never get an accurate ANH Chewbacca at all! Well, of course, things had to go south as we get closer to the release date of the unacceptably long-awaited Chewbacca figure on a Star Wars card. As Hasbro releases high-resolution images, one can’t help to notice the devastatingly huge mistake they made. Get ready for the VOTC Episode VI Chewbacca for our “A New Hope” Chewy. What a travesty. Also, what in Heaven’s name is up with these name pills Hasbro? Your art department is CLUELESS. Please fix this immediately. Thanks to all who wrote in to ruin my morning with this news. 🙂
