Here we go again! New The Vintage Collection figures! Let’s begin with the Jawa! It’s probably the only definitive modern replacement we’ll ever get from Hasbro, sadly. You can check out rough Photo Galleries for The Vintage Collection wave 24 RIGHT NOW in our Research Droids Reviews. The RDRs, begin tomorrow, but you can check out most of them now. Princess Leia Organa (Yavin) (VC150) got delayed but will be here tomorrow. I’ll add her as soon as she arrives. In a nutshell, wave 24 is a great “repack and repaint” wave. (Remember those?)
Interestingly, the Sith Trooper is an all-new figure. I thought for sure he used parts from the SIth Jet Trooper, but not a single part is reused. For me, the Jawa is bittersweet. I desperately wanted a Jawa on a Star Wars card, and Hasbro delivered. But I would be lying if I said I am content with the straight repack of The Black Series [Phase II] figure. A Jawa deserves all-new tooling and premium soft-goods. At the moment, the Shadow Trooper is my favorite of the bunch so far. It’s a fantastic sculpt, and the extra gear is appreciated and welcomed. Anyway, be sure to check them all out!

Walmart polled kids this year to get an idea of what some of their favorite toys and brands are and what Wlamart should have IN STOCK for America’s Best Toy Shop. As you know, Walmart has grand plans to take over the world as the #1 toy shop. See if you can find what intellectual property and Hasbro brand DID NOT make the list. Hasbro has announced today that, beginning in 2020, it plans to start phasing out plastic from new product packaging, including plastic elements like polybags, elastic bands, shrink wrap, window sheets, and blister packs. The company’s ambition is to eliminate virtually all plastic in packaging for new products by the end of 2022. There is not ONE mention of the Star Wars line in the article. Here is another figure we should have fallen in love with but didn’t. Why is Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) this filthy on a Star Wars card? Can anyone answer this? Please don’t deactivate Hasbro! We’re almost done with the reviews, but you can check everything else out right now including a ton of comparison images, diorama shots and the new figures interacting with other figures and vehicles. I have to admit that The Vintage Collection wave 22 isn’t doing it for me. My favorite figure in the wave is the Imperial Assault Tank Commander, and that should NOT be the case. I am thrilled about finally getting a carded “12-Back” Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) figure, but this character and card back were worthy of a completely all-new sculpt. Oh well. Luke Skywalker (Crait) is a decent release, but he is limited in movement thanks to constricting robes. His articulation system is almost voided out by it. And the Death Star Gunner should have been the crowning joy of the wave, but it has disappointed me hugely. Anyhow, check out the new images of the latest figures. Hopefully, the next wave will be a little bit better.
