As you know, there are four major releases this Sunday at TARGET. The already popular Retro Collection figures will make their debut (and have already shipped from online if you’ve pre-ordered them). The second big release is The Vintage Collection Han Solo (Stormtrooper) figure. The third is The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ Luke Skywalker (Death Star Escape) figure with slicked-back wet hair. Lastly, the Escape From Death Star Board Game with exclusive Grand Moff Tarkin is also an official release May 12th.

You likely remember when we reported about a plethora of Jyn Erso and Captain Cassian Andor TBS6 figures arriving at TARGET unexpectedly and in vast numbers. With your help, we figured out that the Five Below stock (both online and in stores) was purchased for $5 each and then people used their TARGET receipts to return the $5 figures with receipts of new figures they paid full price for. Well, it appears TARGET is onto the bait and switch. They’ve covered up the UPCs and created a unique UPC on the clearance sticker to ensure these never get returned to the store again. Acts like this will change return policies for the worse and could make some products ineligible for return for all of us. Let’s not make Hasbro’s bad case assortment decisions worse with this type of clearance life cycle that seemingly is without end. We’ll be seeing Jun and Cassian in stores until who knows when.

My local target has just finished their action figure reset, and it is rather sorry. They had the new archive figures in stock (I let some sixer friends know). Unfortunately, the 3 pegs of Vintage Collection figures that were present before the reset are now relegated to just 1. Fellow Council of Collectors members, what can be done? Full Story

JTA reader Geoffrey B. found the latest Star Wars [Resistance] figures at his local TARGET store. Sadly, they wouldn’t sell them to him because they have a street date of January 15th. These are two-packs, a pilot with a droid and they look very cool. Below is Jarek Yeager & Bucket (R3-B7) and Poe Dameron & BB-8.

While we are still a few weeks away before Hasbro will release their numbers for the 4th quarter and full year there are already some early numbers and estimates that paint a rather grim picture for Hasbro, especially when it comes to action figures and here especially Star Wars. JTA reader and friend Russ T. sends us a report that his local TARGET restocked both Moloch and Gamorrean Guard The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figures. I can confirm that my local stores were restocked today too. It looks like there are finally enough of those pigs out there now.

Hey! If anyone’s interested, it looks like you can get pack-in figures for a reduced cost at my local TARGET right outside of Philadelphia. Just buy any Hasbro vehicle, take out the figure and nd then return it as if nothing is different. It appears to be going over quite well here. Good luck to all!

We have learned that a TARGET store has placed its current DPCI number for The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figures into a “salvaged” status. To store employees, this means that the line is discontinued and they’re not getting any more units. We, of course, know this is the furthest thing from happening. There are plenty of figures in the works. There is no cause for alarm. We saw similar activity to this last year at Walmart. It’s something retail does to purge dead stock. So, could the line be placed in a new DPCI to help with the many stock issues plaguing the line all over, or is this an isolated report? Is this a corporate initiative? Or is this simply a non-story? Stay tuned as we follow its developments.

JTA reader Agustin found the Ultimate Co-pilot Chewie at his local TARGET. As you probably already know, this thing is adorable beyond belief.

JTA reader Christopher reports in that his Lancaster, OH Target completed their Star Wars Aisle reset. Thanks for the update! Let us know in the comments if you are seeing the same in your area. 

I was just at my local Target in Lancaster, OH. They completed their Star Wars toy aisle reset today. They put out not only the remaining two Gamorrean guards they had in stock ( the store received in three initially and someone got one out of the back room for me last Friday ) but they also, interestingly enough, put out five of the Target Chewbacca exclusive figures which have not been on the shelf at my Target yet. And they had their own shelf label. There were a few gaps in the stock. I’m interested to see what the 49.99 Kylo Ren black series tag corresponds to, as I’m not familiar with a 49.99 Kylo Ren black series Item coming out at this time. Thanks.

Cover art for the Target exclusive Solo 4k Blu-Ray has been revealed. With the exclusive edition you will also get a 40 page art booklet. Apparently the release comes with three discs and some exclusive bonus features. Not much more is known at the moment. Click through for the full cover and a photo of what’s inside case!

JTA reader Aric B. sends us images of new TARGET shippers arriving at stores. I have not seen these at any of my local stores. Interesting. This is the first I have heard of them or seen them. The design is a little outdated if you ask me.

Another report! Wave 2 of the Star Wars [Solo] Force Link 2.0 wave has also been found at TARGET in Southern NJ! Special thanks to JTA reder Jason D. for the alert!

JTA reader and friend Russ T. has found the TARGET exclusive Chewbacca figure at his local TARGET in NJ. He also asked about the new 4-LOM figure. This was his experience with that: “My local Target had 6 of the new Solo Chewie figure, but no 4-Lom. When I asked the worker to look up the figure after I gave her the DCPI she said it comes up on clearance for $12.99 and they won’t be getting anymore. WHAAAAAT??? They never even had it yet”

In what seems to be an effort to directly compete with Amazon, TARGET has announced that it will offer same day shipping to customers in five major cities. If you’ve been having trouble locating the newest Solo toys at your closest TARGET brick and mortar, you may not be surprised to learn that when given the DPCI a TARGET employee informed me that the Solo product launch was dated for a 4/15 reset, which is after the 4/13 street date. Patience is the way of the Jedi, friends, and we may have to wait a couple days yet…

JTA Facebook reader Craig G. has found the latest wave of The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figures at his local TARGET in Atlanta GA and each rang up for $10 a piece. It might be worth your while to check your local store and see if you can find similar deals. (This is proof that case assortments and distribution is still in very bad shape.)
