We saved the best for last. The surprise hit of the show was the unannounced The Mandalorian Experience exhibit. This exhibit was revealed at the opening day Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase panel and features props and set pieces from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. This wasn’t just any display, it was incredibly immersive and impressive how much they brought in to showcase. Click through to see our massive gallery and walk-through video of the exhibit!

Nielsen has finally added the last Book of Boba Fett episode to the streaming charts. So how popular was the series? Did more people watch it than the Mandalorian season 2 finale? Click through for the final update!

We last talked about the streaming ratings for The Book of Boba Fett two weeks ago, in the meantime Nielsen added episodes 5 and 6 to their charts. So how did the Mandalorian episodes with Luke Skywalker fare? After episode 4 The Book of Boba Fett had less than 600 million minutes streamed, an improvement after the previous decline with episode 3. Episodes 5 and 6 did give the series the much expected boost, but it’s still far removed from what The Mandalorian had. The Book of Boba Fett accumulates 776 million minutes with episodes 1-6, which is about the same as last week when episode 5 was added. Which is less than what WandaVision or Loki had, much less than The Mandalorian (1.34 billion minutes with the season finale added), but still pretty good and a lot better than things like Hawkeye or Falcon & Winter Soldier. But because of the competition The Book of Boba Fett dropped a few places, down to #7 now. The Book of Boba Fett is the only Disney+ series on the charts. Amazon Prime makes a rare appearance on the charts with Reacher, which took the #2 position with 1.84 billion minutes streamed over eight episodes. The charts are otherwise dominated by Netflix as usual. Let’s see if the series finale can improve the numbers. Samba TV reported their numbers several weeks ago and they claimed the finale perfomed much better than the Mandalorian season 2 finale, something which I find somewhat difficult to believe. Let’s see what the Nielsen streaming charts will say about that next week!

Season finale for The Book of Boba Fett! What could be next after the previous two episodes and Luke Skywalker training Grogu? It turns out the finale was pretty spectacular, but for entirely different reasons than for the previous two episodes. This time it’s all about the action and of that we get quite a bit, and then some more. And more. And then some more. Just for the fun of it. So click here or on the banner to read my spoiler review of “In The Name Of Honor” and let’s discuss the season (or series) finale of The Book of Boba Fett!

The Book of Boba Fett entered the Nielsen streaming charts last week (there is always a ca. four week delay) with the pilot episode in 8th place, so with just one episode, which is quite an achievement since Nielsen counts accumulated viewing time for all episodes of a series. In the new Nielsen charts Boba rises from 8th to 5th place with 563 million minutes viewed. Cobra Kai remains in first place, The Witcher in second. Which means that The Book of Boba Fett with just two episodes already performs better on Disney+ than Marvel’s Hawkeye with six. Hawkeye managed 539 million minutes with the season finale and has now disappeared from the charts. Star Wars is still immensely popular and can easily outclass any Marvel show on Disney+ (The Mandalorian rules here). Food for thought maybe.
It seems that while some people – me included – were very critical of The Book of Boba Fett and found it somewhat lackluster (a verdict that was almost certainly completely reversed with the last two episodes) general audiences just enjoy the ride and make The Book of Boba Fett a success. I wonder where the ratings will go with episodes 5 and 6. But we’ll have to wait another three weeks to find out. I would not be surprised if the ratings skyrocket with episodes 5 and especially 6. Let’s see where this will end up. And it’s also a reminder to us all that audiences just want to have a good time and don’t overanalyze things like we sometimes tend to do.

Today’s episode of… certainly not “The Book of Boba Fett” (Boba is in the episode for a minute or so with maybe one line of dialogue, sorry, spoilers)… made me angry, sad, wistful, happy and feel elated all at the same time. It was a reminder of what could have been, what maybe still can be, it’s a love letter, it’s for the fans, for the fans who WANT to love Star Wars but maybe found it difficult in the past. It’s so many things, it’s not a “The Book of Boba Fett episode” really, no, it’s something much grander. I will not spoil it here, but trust me, this will be all over social media, YouTube, everywhere. Watch the episode NOW! Leave work, go home, sit down and enjoy the best Star Wars ever made… ok, since 2003 at least. Maybe 1983. Read my spoilerific review of the most terrific Disney+ Star Wars episode ever by clicking here or on the banner below! And then let’s all share the joy and elation in the comments!
