1985 THE POWER OF THE FORCE Amanaman: Trilogo Update

In 1984, new packaging for Star Wars figures was introduced for the European market. A cost containment initiative, the new packaging sported three languages of the Return Of The Jedi logo for a “one size fits all” approach. Although a “three-logo” design was created for The Power Of The Force line (as evidenced on some ‘boxed’ toys), it wasn’t carried over to the basic figure line’s card design. They continued to use the three Return Of The Jedi logos instead. Although the word “Trilogo” is found nowhere on the packaging, the term is universally adopted by all Star Wars collectors to describe this line of figures.

We are finishing the Trilogo line up with the final 15 The Power Of The Force Kenner figures, and there weren’t any coins provided with them. Today we revisit Amanaman. See the full card art and additional notes by revisiting 1985’s THE POWER OF THE FORCE Amanaman figure HERE.

1985 THE POWER OF THE FORCE Romba: Trilogo Update

We are finishing the Trilogo line up with the final 15 The Power Of The Force Kenner figures, and there weren’t any coins provided with them. Today we revisit Romba. Do you notice anything strange? The Kenner version of Paploo shows an image of Romba. And the Trilogo version of Romba shows an image of Paploo. (We should also mention that the Trilogo version of Paploo shows Romba as well, but the Kenner POTF Romba shows the correct character.) See the full card art and additional notes by revisiting 1985’s THE POWER OF THE FORCE Romba figure HERE.

It doesn’t vary all that much from the Kenner version See the full card art and additional notes by revisiting 1985’s THE POWER OF THE FORCE Luke Skywalker (In Battle Poncho) figure HERE.

Super7's 1985 POTF-Inspired Metropolis Maria Figure!

Super 7 is releasing another excellent exclusive this year, in line with their previous Alien Hammerhead figure. This year it’s Kenner 1985 The Power Of The Force packaging with a 5POA Metropolis Maria as the featured figure. Awesome! Too bad Hasbro doesn’t do a whole line of never-produced POTF Retro Collection figures like this! Imagine a POTF Bossk, POTF IG-88, POTF Luke Bespin. It will never happen as the line continually gets squandered. Any way, check out Super 7’s Facebook page for more

Vintage Kenner Research Droids Reviews Redux!

Precisely ONE YEAR AGO today we began our run of vintage Kenner Research Droids Reviews. Because the vintage Kenner line served as the catalyst which shaped our hearts and minds as Star Wars collectors, it makes total sense that they were one of our most successful columns here in the history of Jedi Temple Archives. Our readers recounted numerous childhood stories and events of what made the vintage Kenner Star Wars toy line what it was and why it has left an indelible mark on their lives. Because of the column’s success, we’ve decided to relaunch the series, with every review posted on the anniversary of its first publishing in 2018. If you’re new to the site or you’d like to relive these fantastic figures, galleries, and infinite details, please partake once again. It seems appropriate to do this with the launch of the Retro Collection. As a bonus, we’re updating the best “Hasbro Modern Counterpart” should any of the original choices changed. Stay tuned for the first “re-release” today! Thanks again for making the column a roaring success.
