Everybody knows the story... Revenge
of the Jedi was to be the title of long anticipated final chapter in the
Star Wars trilogy. Everyone was so excited at the announcement that
even Kenner jumped the gun. In anticipation of the next wave of action figures
and toys, they prepared the cards with the Revenge logo. By the time
Lucasfilm announed that the title of the next movie was instead to be Return
of the Jedi, the damage was already done. A total of 50 cards were developed.
The same 48 regular characters found on the Return of the Jedi cards
(from Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back), plus 2 incomplete
cards: the original R2-D2 and a blank card (also known as the error card).
