Now take this with a grain of salt (or maybe two) but website TMZ says they have obtained a copy of a production bulletin for the Obi-Wan stand alone movie. Click through for some details!
According to TMZ the yet to be officially announced Obi-Wan movie will simply be titled “Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story”, which would certainly fit the mold set by Solo. Working title of the movie is supposed to be “Joshua Tree”. Director is Stephen Daldry. Filming begins spring 2019 in London.
And here’s the plot synopsis:
Obi-Wan is on Tatooine being an elusive hermit, but secretly watches over an infant Luke Skywalker, whom he delivered to his uncle, Owen. Tensions between the local farmers and a tribe of Sand People — headed by a ruthless war chief — eventually brings Obi out of hiding … and into Jedi kickass mode.
So the movie is set only a few short years before A New Hope.
Once again, take this with several grains of salt. Maybe the bulletin is legit. Maybe it’s not. Anyway, I think the plot synopsis makes sense. What do yo think? Do you think a Star Wars movie with a setting similar to “A Fistful of Dollars or Seven Samurai” and Obi-Wan would work? I think this could be fun. If only Lucasfilm finally officially announced the movie!
