Solo Spin Off Series In Development?

There are some rumors circulating the internet that Lucasfilm may develop a Disney+ spin-off series based on Solo. Website Star Wars Unity has a story about an alleged Solo spin off that would continue some of the story threads of the movie. The rumor report says that any series based on Solo would most likely revolve around Crimson Dawn and not so much Han Solo, Chewbacca and Lando. Click through to read more!

More love for Solo

The Solo spin off series rumor was further fueled when Jordan Maison, the editor of website Cinelinx, posted on Twitter yesterday that he has heard “much chatter about Crimson Dawn in general”.

Solo, while a flop at the box office, has actually quite good ratings among those who actually saw the movie. Since a Disney+ series would always target the more hardcore fans anyway, it may not be as outlandish as it first sounds to create a series based on a box office flop that was mostly ignored by the more casual moviegoer. Solo most certainly left several things unanswered, what happened to Qi’Ra, what exactly was Darth Maul up to with Crimson Dawn?

If a Crimson Dawn based Solo spin off will be made I would think that Qi’Ra may be the main character and that Darth Maul would also be heavily featured. Perhaps Han and Chewie may have a guest appearance every now and then, since Han and Qi’ra’s story was not finished either. I do think both Emilia Clarke and Alden Ehrenreich would be available.

So, what is your opinion? Would you be interested in a Crimson Dawn based Solo spin off? Either with or without any characters from the Solo movie? Any Crimson Dawn series might re-use some concepts and stories from Star Wars Underworld and could therefore be heavily based on something that was still developed under George Lucas. Underworld’s tone was meant to be Film Noir, something that would be a perfect fit for a Crimson Dawn Solo spin off and with Qi’ra as a femme fatale leading lady.
