Now that even San Diego Comic Con had to accept reality and canceled the event, the question is what will happen with all the various con exclusives. These have most certainly already been made. But with no con the question remains what to do with these exclusives. Click through for a short discussion!
So what would you like?
Should Hasbro hold some special online event, where they reveal the exclusives?
Would you prefer it if the exclusives were simply sold online? That would certainly mean everything is sold out after two minutes, unless the server crashes. But then again, this is pretty much what happens every year with many exclusives.
Another solution would be that people who do have a ticket for SDCC can enter some kind of lottery (if they want to) and they can win the right to buy an exclusive. Meaning, that people who would have attended SDCC still get some kind of first access to the exclusives or at least a first shot at trying to get one. To award them for buying a ticket.
Another solution may be that the SDCC exclusives are sold at some other event this year, probably later in the fall, if there ever will be one, which is still very much in doubt.
Whatever happens, it’s certainly less than ideal now for many companies. However, selling the excusives online is certainly the most viable option here, either with or without first access for SDCC ticket holders.
What do you think is the most ideal way of dealing with the exclusives? Sell everything online? Give SDCC ticket holders some kind of first access? Wait for some other con/event?
