Toy Run Tuesday #50 - Ultimate TVC Captain Rex
Welcome back to another TRT! Thanks for being regular readers, and if you’re here for the first time I hope to see you back next week! This week I completed a custom TVC Captain Rex. Click here to check out some photos of the completed figure!
The Hasbro issued 3.75 Black Series Captain Rex was unfortunately sub-par as is the upcoming Wolffe. The VC54 Fordo is the base that all these commanders should have been made upon, but alas, we got a clone with swivel hips and limited torso movement. After realizing I didn’t want to spend $250 on the gorgeous Hot Toys Captain Rex, I decided to make my own ultimate 3.75 version.
For this custom I took a VC45 reissued clone and swapped some limbs. I also painted a jetpack and a custom head from Watto’s Scrapyard. I’m very happy with the final product! Now I need an official season 7 Ahsoka TVC figure to go along with him.
I will be doing the same thing when Wolffe comes out. If only I didn’t have to in the first place, but oh well! I’ll be happy to have another clone to complete. If you have any new acquisitions or customs or just a shelf of figures you’d like to share please do so in the comments!
