New HasLab Marvel Legends Campaign Has Very Promising Start [Updated)

While not really related to Star Wars, it may be of interest to some that the new Haslab Marvel Legends campaign has a promising start. The campaign was officially launched a few hours ago and 2,600 out of 6,000 required backers have already made their pledge. Click through for more info!

Update: now that was quick, the Sentinel has reached the required number of 6,000 backers already. Congratulations! Next up, the various stretch goals, which should all be reached. It’s greeat for Hasbro, HasLab and the Marvel collecting community that this campaign is a huge success.

Marvel Legends Haslab Sentinel

Say hello to the $349.99 Sentinel – batteries not included!

The Sentinel figure is 26.3 inches (66,9 cm) tall, comes with an additional 6 inch figure, and it also includes some electronics. There are LEDs in the chest and head for a searchlight and glowing eyes. However, batteries are not included, you need to buy those extra.
The figure is $349.99, so it’s a lot cheaper than Unicron and somewhat more affordable than the barge.

In comparison: the barge, which was more expensive, needed more than 24 days to reach about 2.5k backers. And while collecting is not a competition, it is still very interesting to see that the Marvel Legends community is backing their campaign so much quicker than other fan communities before. Cookie Monster failed outright, Unicron only made it because Hasbro didn’t want it to fail, they had to extend the campaign considerably to reach the required number of backers. The Barge was a great success, but it only exploded really in the last week or so when it gained a couple of thousand backers. The Sentinel is almost at 50% already after just a few hours.

As you all know Star Wars will get its brand new Haslab campaign in August/September. The Marvel Legends Sentinel campaign will end in 45 days, I expect the Star Wars Haslab campaign to be announced shortly after that, which would be late August, early September. Since there are quite a few Marvel Legends collectors here… did you already back the Sentinel? Or are you saving some money for the Star Wars Haslab? Or will you back both even?
