Alden Ehrenreich Talks About A Potential Future For Han Solo

Esquire is running a story about Alden Ehrenreich andf talked to him about a lot of things, among them of course his stint as Han Solo in Star Wars and whether or not there may be a future for Han Solo. While it’s not really likely, Ehrenreich still gives fans of “Solo” some sliver of hope that there will be a future for the characters. Click through for more info!

Ehrenreich is the new star of “Brave New World”, a series based on Aldous Huxley’s work, it will air this week on NBCs all new “Peacock” streaming service (yet another one…). This is Ehrenreich’s first return to the spotlight since Solo. And Ehreneich explains in the piece about him why he took some time off. He basically wanted to be “a person” again, he wanted to develop outside of the glittery world of Hollywood and connect with people in his life. Which is something you have very little time for when you are involved in the production of a major blockbuster movie. Production for Solo was long, much longer than anticipated so it is understandable that Ehrenreich wanted some time off after that experience.

But then Ehrenreich talks about potential prospects of more Solo, and if he would be willing to return to the role:

“It depends on what it is. It depends on how it’s done. It depends if it feels innate to the story.”

And about a potential sequel to Solo:

“No, I don’t know anything about that. I mean, you know, I think our movie was kind of the last of the conventional-era Star Wars movie release time. I’ve heard soooome stuff, but nothing concrete.”

So Alden has heard “some stuff”, thus it appears the idea of more stories set in the Solo timeline or with some (or all) of the characters from the movie is not completely off the table. There is certainly potential for more, not all plot points were resolved at the end of the movie.

Bonus fun fact: Alden Ehrenreich has not seen The Rise of Skywalker, and he didn’t even know “The Mandalorian”, it seems he doesn’t occupy himself with Star Wars all that much these days.

Let’s hope his new show will be a success, Alden will star alongside Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey, Black Mirror) in the dystopian sci fi series.

What about you? Would you be up for more stories set in the Solo timeline with some (or all) of the characters from the movie? Possibly as a Disney+ project?
