Four Figures Shockingly Absent From The Vintage Collection (Hasbro 2004 Got It Right - Can Hasbro 2021 Follow Suit?)

If you were actively collecting during the fabulous The Original Trilogy Collection in 2004, you’re aware that Hasbro introduced the first “Vintage Kenner” carded figures, much to the excitement and amazement of the entire Star Wars collecting community. The Hasbro team back then realized the importance of the 1978 Star Wars toy line and the main characters that should be part of it. When choosing four characters for placement on the replica 1978 STAR WARS cards, Hasbro wisely chose Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi. These four main heroes are synonymous with the Star Wars branding. The modern counterparts started a fire in collectors to see every original Kenner figure updated in vintage Kenner packaging. So why are these four characters still conspicuously absent from The Vintage Collection after eight active years? (more….)

How is it possible that Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi have yet to be updated in The Vintage Collection? I can’t think of four other characters in desperate need of modern updating in all the original Kenner line.

How does the current Hasbro team not understand the importance of these characters in The Vintage Collection? Why are background alien characters from The Mandalorian getting a coveted slot in The Vintage Collection, yet these four characters are ignored year after year?

Hasbro has digital fils from The Black Series 6″ counterparts to easily produce excellent 3.75-inch versions of these characters. So, why is there a delay? Why are they consistently skipped over for Disney Sar Wars characters?

While I don’t expect Hasbro to drop everything and focus on The Ninety Six(as nice as that would be), some Star Wars characters should stop Hasbro in their tracks until they design, produce, and release them in The Vintage Collection. I feel that these four characters warrant the attention.

Hasbro, PLEASE turn your attention to these STAR WARS characters. They’re worthy of your time. And updates are desperately needed of them by The Vintage Collection collectors.

It’s been 17 years since Hasbro released the first wave of the “Vintage” Original Trilogy Collection action figures to the market. Please don’t let another year go by before you add them to The Vintage Collection. Thank you! If Hasbro 2004 made these four a priority, Hasbro 2021 could do the same.
