So who is Giancarlo Esposito’s favorite The Mandalorian co-star? Gina Carano.

You can tell that Giancarlo briefly ponders what to reply since he probably knows his answer may be controversial in certain circles (i.e. Twitter) or maybe even at Lucasfilm, but then goes ahead anyway and gives an honest reply.

He states he loves working with Gina because she is warm, beautiful and wonderful and he doesn’t care what her politics are.

If there is one thing to take away then certainly Giancarlo’s second half of his statement. Why would or should we care what anyone’s politics are as long as they are a decent human being and do a good job? In my opinion if we all agreed that anyone’s politics are taken much too seriously these days and that despite differences in political opinions you can still be good colleagues and friends with someone things would be a lot better, especially on social media.

Some have criticized Carano for her acting in The Mandalorian, which is fair, she is not a a trained actor after all and entered the movie business pretty late, but the general consensus is that she was a really good fit for an ex Republic soldier who now lives on the frontier and knows how to fight when push comes to shove. Actually, Esposito points out in his reply how Gina Carano came to acting very late and praises her for her raw and original approach.

Would you like the idea of Lucasfilm rehiring Gina Carano for The Mandalorian and Rangers of the New Republic? Some rumors keep floating around on the internet, but you know what to think of these things… Or do you think it’s better she was fired and should never return to Star Wars? What is your opinion?
