Good evening, Toy Runners! My internet was down until now, so today’s post is a bit late. I am working on some new customs I wanted to share. I also wanted to talk about distribution a little bit and probably rant a bit too. Click here to hear me out.
Click below for the full Visual Guide for the Retro Collection’s Kuiil. Click here for our review. I have spoken.
In recent months the release schedule for the SH Figuarts Star Wars line had completely dried up, to the point that some feared SHF may have either lost interest or the license altogether. But a few days ago SH Figuarts revealed two brand new 6 inch scale Star Wars action figures. Anf of course both are from The Mandalorian! Season 2 Din Djarin with unmasked head and rearmored season 2 Boba Fett (meaning his armor has the fresh coat of paint) will come in January 2022! Pre-orders open on September 3rd! Click through for more details!
The Black Series Rancor HasLab is about to be launched very soon and the general feeling among Star Wars collectors seems to amount to a mere shrug, it’s very much wait and see here. Meanwhile our dear Marvel friends have reason to celebrate today. Hasbro’s latest Marvel HasLab ended just moments ago. And it’s apparent that Marvel collectors have deep pockets and love their HasLabs. Galactus was off to a relatively modest start, only a week ago he had only about 14,000 backers. But as expected the past few days and hours gave Galactus a huge boost. In fact, Galactus has just become the most successful HasLab yet! Click through for more!
The Mandalorian/Blurrg/Remnant Stormtrooper Mission Fleet set might make you a little mad that we don’t have this beast in The Vintage Collection or The Black Series lines yet. But maybe it’s because Hasbro isn’t sure if collectors would pay the ridiculous amounts of money to put the blurrg in those scales for us. (Look how cheap it is to make an all-new 2-inch-scaled blurrg.) (more….)
I know I see more positive reports than negative one when it comes to Hasbro Pulse. Still, JTA reader Jason A.’s recent delivery of The Black Series [Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary] POTF2 (one of their worst exclusives ever) arrived shoved into an ill-fitted box by their shipping department. This has been the norm for me. I’ve literally had better encounters with Walmart’s shipping than Hasbro Pulse. Oh well.

Welcome to another entry in our The Vintage Collection: The Ninety Six column. Hasbro recently committed to collectors that they will be “focusing” on characters in The Vintage Collection that fall under “The Ninety Six” banner. If you’re new to this, it means that there needs a modern counterpart for every classic Kenner figure. Between 2020 and 2021, Hasbro’s made an admirable effort by focusing on these characters. But there is more work to be done, and we’ll figure out where we are step by step. Today we assess 2-1B.

Hi all! It’s a Tuesday evening, but not too late for TRT! This week I dont’ have a single new Star Wars anything to share. I think that’s the first time in 2 years of running this article. If you want to see my Tech Deck ramp I made, or my custom Halo figures let me know. This is a Star Wars site, though, so I’m keeping it related. I did want to talk about something: preorders. Preorders bring me no joy when it comes to collecting. I look at my amazon orders and the preordered figures get lost in the backlog of household items. Preorders get forgotten. I want to ask you today: How much stuff do you have preordered? And, Do preorders excite you as a collector? Let us know in the comments.
We’ve gone through a baker’s dozen of new The Vintage Collection RDRs since the end of May, many of which hadn’t hit the USA at the time of publishing. Many are beginning to ship from suppliers, but have you caught up on our reviews? Check them out by clicking below!
If you couldn’t roll your eyes more vigorously about the ridiculousness of Disney Star Wars, this might give you convulsions. Slave I is no more. It is now called the Firespray (which is really the MODEL of the vehicle and not its real name.) While this isn’t a universal transition, it’s expected to become commonplace in the Star Wars universe. Who else can’t wait to see what’s next on the erasing of Star Wars’ history?! Screenrant has the full story.

Folks, The Vintage Collection is treading water, and this will be our lot in life until the line goes inactive again. We are now three years out from the Star Wars film that killed the franchise, was toxic to merchandising, and contained some of the most awful characters that ever made up a Star Wars trilogy. The dreaded The Last Jedi film products are STILL poisoning retail, and now clearance outlets are beginning to taste their toxicity. (more….)

If you’re still desperate to find the Lucasfilm 50th The Vintage Collection exclusives at Walmart, the kicker display is still showing up. JTA reader Jaret just found it today in Tulsa, OK. What a shame that Hasbro and Walmart treated these exclusives so terribly. We should probably expect the same for the next wave.

Ever since Disney bought the Star Wars franchise back in 2012 a major focus were women. Not only did Lucasfilm try very hard to engage more female fans, the movies as well as books & comics emphasize the role of women in the Star Wars galaxy much more than ever before. So the question is: did Disney actually succeed? Are there interesting and engaging female characters in Disney Star Wars which were not originally conceived in the Lucas era? Click through for a ranking of Disney era female Star Wars characters and let’s find out who the best one is. The results may be somewhat surprising (or not)!
Hi everyone! Welcome to another fine Tuesday afternoon. I went out toy hunting this week but came up rather empty handed. One of the local Walmart stores finally decided to stock their months-long empty shelves. It was quite a sight to behold. As I made my way down the aisle, I wasn’t surprised that the two skinny rows set aside for Star Wars were barer than a newborn baby’s bottom. Even when Walmart restocks, Star Wars is never part of the equation. There were plenty of other Hasbro products too. When you see anecdotal evidence like this, it still makes you wonder who is at fault for the lack of Star Wars products. Sad.
