Columbia Sportswear Reveals Star Wars: The Clone Wars™ Special-Edition Collection

Inspired by the iconic animated series, this new collection is built to handle the coldest planets in the galaxy

Portland, Oregon – November 21, 2022 – Columbia Sportswear, in collaboration with Lucasfilm, is launching a special-edition collection inspired by the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.  These new pieces blend both fandom and function while featuring intricate details that fans can appreciate. 

Whether you’re ready to suit up like a Jedi hero of the Republic or simply adventuring outside on a frigid winter day, the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Collection has you covered (literally).  The pieces in the collection are inspired by legendary, fan-favorite characters Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka Tano with each style featuring the Columbia DNA of gear made for the outdoors.

The Emmy award-winning continuation of the greatest space fantasy of all time, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was created by George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation.  With ambitious, ground-breaking computer animation, classic characters, astounding action, and the timeless battle between good and evil, Star Wars: The Clone Wars expands the Star Wars story with all new adventures set in a galaxy far, far away. The Galactic Republic, protected by Jedi Knights and heroic clone troopers, battles with the endless droid army of the Separatist Alliance.  In the midst of this action are heroic Jedi like Ahsoka Tano, her Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the valiant soldiers of the clone army.  It is the last great conflict before the rise of the Empire.

The collection will be available on columbia.com/StarWars starting at 12:01am EST on Dec. 2 and in-store at select Columbia-branded retail locations. (Participating stores are listed online and below.)  This is the ninth time that Columbia has collaborated with Lucasfilm to build a distinct collection that honors the characters from the Star Wars saga in new and unexpected ways.  Ranging in price from $40-$500 (USD), the pieces in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars collection include an array of outerwear and sportswear.

Columbia’s latest collection incorporates rich design cues that bring the animated characters to life.   The key styles also feature the gold standard in warmth, Columbia’s Omni-Heat Infinity™ thermal reflective technology to help fans to master the elements this winter.

The Columbia Star Wars: The Clone Wars collection features four styles:

• The Republic Parka (MSRP $500) is inspired by the characters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and their adventures on the ice planet Orto Plutonia. The waterproof-breathable shells are available in blue and gray, and will keep fans dry and protected while 650-fill insulation and Omni-Heat Infinity lining team up against the cold.  Fan-favorite details include Jedi and Republic insignia along with an internal “blood chit” label coded in Aurebesh, the universal written language of the Star Wars galaxy.  Additional features include security, hand, chest, and cargo pockets along with comfort cuffs and an adjustable hood (with removable faux fur) and hem. 

• The Ahsoka Tano™ Jacket (MSRP $414) is inspired by the invincible character Ahsoka Tano and the snow jacket she wore on Carlac. The water-resistant shell helps keep you dry and protected while 650-fill insulation and Omni-Heat Infinity lining team up against the cold.  Fan-favorite details include the hood with external “head tails” and an internal print inspired by Ahsoka’s unique attributes, while an internal “blood chit” label coded in Aurebesh helps tell her story.  Additional features include faux fur on hood, cuffs, and hem, comfort cuffs with thumb holes, zippered hand pockets, and a sleek eye-catching silhouette.  A limited number of jackets were produced. 

• The Republic Heavyweight Pullover (MSRP $140) is built on hope, and fans can bring prosperity and peace to the galaxy in this pullover. Durable, heavyweight cotton-blend fabric and an adjustable hood and hem help you power through the far reaches of the Outer Rim. Join the light side with a bold Jedi crest across the chest, and a unique message coded in Aurebesh along the back.

• The Republic Ball Cap (MSRP $40) is a ball cap with wear-anywhere appeal and fan features inspired by Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Embrace adventure with breathable mesh backing, and a custom-fit snapback closure. The intentionally distressed printed design reflects the bravery of the Republic, and the Jedi crest is boldly embroidered along the front for all the galaxy to see. 

Columbia’s new collection inspired by Star Wars: The Clone Wars™ is available in limited quantities and, in addition to the US, will be available in China, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Mexico, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, Taiwan, UAE, Turkey and Israel.
