Hasbro, we are MORE THAN THRILLED that The Vintage Collection is back, but may we offer some constructive criticism for the packaging? (more….)
Why has the figure placement and bubble area taken up so much real estate on the card front all of a sudden? We strongly feel that this isn’t warranted and should be reduced. The bubbles for the figures DO NOT need to be as wide as they are. And we certainly don’t need the unnecessary airspace and layers of plastic to accommodate the accessories. (There is a ton of wasted space that should be used for the card art instead.) The size of the peg hole should be significantly reduced as well so that the reference image doesn’t get pushed down as far as it does now. And if we can get back to unpunched cards, that would be the icing on the cake!
JTA reader Sebastian E. has graciously provided us with an image of his card back interpretation for the Rebel Soldier (Hoth) (VC120) figure for comparison purposes. You have to admit how much more authentic and accurate his custom card art is. His version better replicates the original vintage Kenner approach. It may be too late for the rest of the waves this year, but going forward can you return to the thinner figure areas and bubbles to be as authentic to the original Kenner line as possible? Right now these are looking a little too much like The Black Series [Star Wars 40] line with the card art skewed and cut off.
Thanks for listening!
