Experience Galaxy's Edge In These Walkthrough Videos!

The LA Times posted their full walkthrough of Savi’s lightsaber workshop on YouTube, in the embedded video you will see what it’s like to build your saber, from beginning to end, including the full experience and performance in the workshop! The only thing the video doesn’t show is that on Batuu nobody refers to Savi’s workshop as a lightsaber workshop, so if you ask for directions and want to know where you can build your own lightsaber you will instead be referred to Savi’s scrap business, which serves as a front so the First Order doesn’t get wind of it. The saber will cost $200 plus tax. After the jump there are some more videos providing a good look at the other highlights from the park, such as the Droid Depot!

What may be interesting, since Batuu is canon, that Yoda will talk to the lightsaber builders in the workshop. The sabers look really good, but they are also somewhat on the pricey side, but then again, owning a custom lightsaber for $200 is maybe not that unreasonable. You can also buy replica sabers at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, however, for about $110 – $150 (depending on the model).

Next up is a good look at the Droid Depot, you can see how tall the droids actually are and what it’s like to custom build your own droid. But you can also get R2 or BB-8.

Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities seems like a haven for Star Wars fans, this place offers so many easter eggs and items to look at (look for that Wampa in the gallery) and so much merchandise that many Star Wars fans might find it difficult not to spend too much money there! And the animatronic is once again very lifelike.

And now a walkthrough of the Black Spire Outpost Marketplace, here you can buy the artisan toys, clothing, various stuffed animals etc.

Finally, a good look at Oga’s Cantina with DJ R-3X!

Now the only question is how the myriad of people visiting the park will find a place in the Cantina and how long you’ll have to wait to be able to build your own lightsaber or droid. You may find that four hours is not that much time and that you may have to prioritize, or you simply return at a late date. Anyway, it’s easy to see how Star Wars fans can easily spend a fortune in Galaxy’s Edge. The merchandise is unique and all of it looks very nice. I think walking the streets and alleys of Batuu and taking it all in could be much more exciting and rewarding than riding the Millennium Falcon for all of 5 minutes. But Rise of the Resistance will be opened later this year and I suppose this will certainly be the main ride. Plenty of reasons for fans to return to Galaxy’s Edge multiple times! If you can afford it, that is.
