Hasbro, Are You KIDDING Us With All Of These TVC Repacks?

Two brand new The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ figures ALWAYS means two to four The Vintage Collection straight repacks. Sigh. When do you think Hasbro will catch on that they’re destroying the line? But maybe not all is lost if they do a couple of things differently. (more….)

I am trying to look on the bright side here. I am sure there are some new collectors out there looking to get their hands on new Photo Real versions of Han Solo (Bespin Outfit), Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues), General Lando Calrissian, and C-3PO. But they also need longtime collectors of the line to remain engaged too so that this line remains a success. So, here are some thoughts of what Hasbro should do to make these repacks a success.

1. Put LUKE SKYWALKER (BESPIN FATIGUES) on the alternate card back. Hasbro, if you do not do this, I will call you names and make fun of you until I die. It will be the stupidest thing possible if you don’t provide collectors with the classic Kenner alternate card back. If you need help on which image, that is, CLICK HERE! I’d prefer a The Empire Strikes Back logo, but a Return Of The Jedi logo would work well too. If you re-release the SAME original card back, the TVC community will revolt.

2. Please change GENERAL LANDO CALRISSIAN’s name to Lando Calrissian (General Pilot) and put the figure on a 1985 The Power Of The Force logo card. Also, I don’t think there is a figure MORE in need of Photo Real than this figure. Please clean him up. (Can you also reduce the length in his legs. He is MUCH TOO TALL since he borrows the legs of Han Solo (Bespin Outfit)). Also, please fix that debacle of a cape tie you plastered on this figure. Give him the silver Darth Vader chain if you have to because it will look better than this! You already reissued this figure in the Walmart exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ line. So, I am not sure why you’re taking another clearance stab at him.

3. I am pretty excited about a Photo Real update of HAN SOLO (BESPIN OUTFIT). This is a fantastic figure already, but Photo Real would make the figure almost definitive. I would love to see this figure placed on a variant ROTJ card back, but a re-release of TESB would be fantastic too. Would it also be possible to tweak his hips a bit? Or is that asking for too much?

4. Here is your chance not to screw up the SEE-THREEPIO (C-3PO) repack. He MUST go on a Star Wars card back. He’s one of the few original 12-Backs yet to be updated on a Star Wars card. We know the 40th anniversary of Episode V is around the corner, but it’s more important to get this figure out on a STAR WARS card back first. You’ve never done it, and we’re way past an acceptable timeframe for waiting. Also, how about using that tacky gold paint you wasted on those Walmart exclusive “Skywalker Saga” commemorative figures to enure C-3PO is nice and shiny?
