Toy Run Tuesday #73 - Bo Katan WIP and 3D Death Star Walls
Hello, Toy Runners! Welcome back to another wonderful Tuesday. I have a couple fun things to share with you this week, and I hope to see your week’s finds as well! Were you able to locate the Target exclusive Mando build up pack? What about the new TVC wave? Please let us know in the comments!
I trust everyone had a good Thanksgiving, and hopefully a relaxing long weekend as well. This week I have a couple projects to share with you! I’m taking a class right now learning SolidWorks, and now that most of the class is finished, I decided to do some fun side-projects while I have a free license to the program. To test my skill a little, I designed from scratch some Death Star Walls. They are a little more complicated than they seem when you get down to it. Small details like grating make a lot of difference, and each element is sketched separately before making it 3-dimensional. I plan to work on a few more projects before the semester is out, so stay tuned!
The other project I’m working on is a custom Bo Katan for a friend of mine who has a Mandalorian focus. The base body is Jyn Erso, and all the armor is sculpted or crafted in styrene (like the functional holsters). I’m glad to be past the sculpting stage on this figure because it was a lot of work!
