You Know Distribution Is Bad When The Toy Manager Laughs In Your Face

I have been searching high and low for the latest wave of The Vintage Collection figures in my area. As expected, there is a blessed sign of them anywhere. At my local Walmart, I couldn’t help but notice multiple cases of the first wave of The Black Series [The Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary] wave when I arrived to the toy aisle. (more….)

How many months late are these figures? (This store has never received them.) Curious from seeing new product (since there hasn’t been anything at this location in over a year), I asked the manager if there was any chance he’s seen the latest 3.75″ The Vintage Collection figures. Because I could finish my sentence he literally threw his head back laughing heartily at me and said “We get one case of those sized figures one every couple of years.” He literally laughed in my face. How bad is distribution for The Vintage Collection (and apparently The Black Series lines) that I might as well have asked for a unicorn for a pet? It would have garnered the same response from this Walmart manager. They’re supposed to be the new source for toys. Sigh.
