Thank you for getting Paploo into The Vintage Collection, Hasbro. As one of the main Ewoks in Return Of The Jedi with tons of screen time, it’s awesome to get an update as well as another Kenner 96 release checked off in our collections. But as usual, you have some work to do. Click through for more.
1. The vintage Kenner card art is gorgeous, but it features the wrong character. The Ewok on the packaging is Romba, NOT Paploo. Like many other characters in the line, Kenner messed up the character names and reference images. But you can fix this. The good news is that Kenner already designed artwork for the correct image of Paploo. You only need to find it. (Psst. If you can’t find it, we have the original high-resolution image we can send to you.)
2. The Return Of The Jedi Trilogo line coincidentally added the incorrect Ewok of Paploo to its Romba card back (2nd image). But this is the reference image you should be using for The Vintage Collection Paploo figure! You fixed 4-LOM’s name from Zuckuss to 4-LOM when you released it in the first TVC wave. And you’ve updated cards for Ponda Baba and Emperor’s Royal Guard. Oh, and you also did right by collectors by listening to us for the ROTJ Boba Fett card. So you have to correct this, please. Fix The Vintage Collection Paploo card art to reflect the correct character of Paploo (in the second Trilogo image).
3. The new figure of Paploo looks pretty good, but we have to be honest. The 2009 Legacy Collection head sculpt and cowl are infinitely better. Can you see if you can add this older tooling to the corrected new larger body on the proposed The Vintage Collection release? The 2009 version of Paploo’s only issue was its height because Hasbro reused the figure with a stature that was too short. This character deserves to be the best it can be. You can make this happen. Please revise these important items.
