It’s becoming increasingly more frustrating to find anything Star Wars-related merchandise at retail. And while we are constantly bombarded by the pompous defenders that retailer exclusives are a necessary evil for the Star Wars toy line, one has to wonder what the point of all this is when literally nothing is found. (more….)
SPOILER ALERT: There were no Anakin Skywalker or GI Joe figures at the electronics department either.
While many exclusives appear to be easy to secure with pre-orders, others that don’t go this route are phantoms in the wild. This situation is the case for the latest Target exclusive, the Lucasfilm 50th anniversary The Clone Wars figures. We haven’t received so many complaint emails about one particular exclusive in a long time until now.
More readers than we can count haven’t found a single The Clone Wars character at their local stores. And with, so far, each store getting a solid case pack of six figures of each character, we’re waiting to see if more units trickle into the stores. Why must exclusives be this unenjoyable? And why are the COOLEST and most essential characters relegated to exclusive status?
Something has got to change. Let us know of your experience trying to secure these four gorgeous figures. We know that none have shown up anywhere near us, and if they have they sold out in one fell swoop. It begs us to ask, why aren’t things like this available via the mass marketplace?
It feels more often than not lately that Hasbro Star Wars store exclusives create feelings of pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth instead of fun and enjoyment. And that’s a bad place to be for anyone. No wonder why so many are abandoning this flock.
