The Return of Battle Packs: Wishlists

We were floored by the announcement of the Stormtrooper build-up pack yesterday. Hasbro let us know that they plan to continue with releases in that format, which begs the obvious question… What battle packs do you want to see next? The stormtrooper set is a great place to start, but this new option provides so many opportunities that we’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about some of those possibilities.

Not much is known yet about exactly what qualifications that figures must meet to be released in this 4-packed, non-carded format. From what we can gather from the Stormtrooper set, the 4 figures must share the same sculpt, and only include different accessories. For the purposes of our wish lists today we will be a little lenient on the guidelines since they’re note yet revealed or set in stone. Let’s all stick to the following rules, though:

  • 4 figures with 95% shared tooling (maybe a different head or shoulder armor etc)
  • Must all have shared paint applications (ie. all on the same team)
  • Can add an accessory to 1 of the figures (ie. pauldron on the trooper captain)
  • No more than your top 10 picks for the list today

That’s it for the rules. Get creative! For me, I’m thinking my top picks would be:

  1. Mauldalorians
  2. 332nd with 1 of them being Captain Vaughn
  3. Dark Troopers
  4. Nightsisters
  5. Republic Commandos

We realize that there may be more rules at play here to qualify for this format. They may need to be existing tooling/mostly repacks, or they may need to all have 100% the same tooling. I’m sure we’ll find out as we see more of these new battle packs going forward.

Let’s see your top 10 choices for these army builder packs in the comments below!
