As much as many of us like to criticize eBay for all of the “evil” people who sell on there, it has proven to be a great gauge for what Star Wars items go for on the aftermarket. In a very short moment of downtime, I curiously searched for three Star Wars characters (their respective action figures) across three definitive periods of collecting eras. I tried to pick characters of equal prominence but gave the Sequel Trilogy an advantage with a more popular “B” character. First I searched for the classic vintage Kenner Walrus Man (of which there are hundreds). Then I jumped to our modern era of Sequel Trilogy collecting and decided to choose Maz Kanata randomly. Once again, there are hundreds of her available as well (hundreds of each scale). Then I jumped to a random point in time during the Golden Age of Collecting and chose The Vintage Collection’s Wooof action figure. There are less than a dozen. (more….)

She sold out twice already, but The VIntage Collection Rey (Island Journey) figure is back in stock from eBay seller freemantoys. If you’re interested, you have another shot at her. You know you’ll never find this at Walmart! (Don’t take that TOO seriously, folks.)

Everything seems to be going up in price anymore, and the Disney Droid Factory collections released a couple of years ago are no exception. JTA friend and moderator Sjefke alerts us to this crazy auction, but if you search for individual parts, they go for an elevated amount too. And you thought Jabba’s Sail Barge was expensive, huh?

The Vintage Collection Walmart exclusive Rey (Island Journey) figure is BACK IN STOCK on eBay! It’s more money before but still comes with FREE shipping! Check it out! And speaking of the Gamorrean Guard, have any of you checked out the asking prices for recent live eBay auctions for The Vintage Collection figure? They’re quite accurate. You can confirm this yourself by checking out the SOLD LISTINGS in the advanced search function. It’s hard to believe that this beautiful 3.75″ super-articulated figure is going for more than The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ version! The figure was available in over a dozen case assortments throughout The Vintage Collection’s original run. The TVC Gamorrean Guard (VC21) figure has been a source of frustration for TVC collectors for years, and it appears the frustration is only going to get worse. No other figure from this line is as desired as this one is. It makes people green with envy, especially when they see collectors with more than one of them!

If you have zero patience like the average, normal Star Wars collector, foreign sellers have both The Black Series [Phase III] Gamorrean Guard and Clone Commander Wolffe in-hand as well.

It’s remarkable how everyone who backed Jabba’s Sail Barge is preparing for its release next February by clearing out eBay. JTA reader Mike R. brought to our attention two figures in particular that have us in awe. 2004’s Star Wars “Saga” [Phase III] J’Quille and Tanus Spijek have been selling like mad on eBay recently. AT any given time you could about two dozen of them for less than $10-$15 each, maybe less. However, they’ve recently sold so strongly that it’s nearly impossible to find any active auctions for them on eBay. If you can locate them, they’re going for a pretty penny. If you recall, we created an itemized list of ROTJ characters while suggesting which one were Sail Barge-worthy, much like how Elaine determines which of her men are sponge-worthy. Well, some readers have taken notice. (You should check out those links again. The increase in prices is astounding.) Don’t wait too long to grab the figures you need to populate this first HasLab offering!

These are reasonably priced and as the aftermarket values for skiff guards and related figures skyrockets, get a few while you can for acceptable prices!

OK, so you have to buy quite a few other figures you probably DON’T want, but this is the cheapest way right now to score the Scarif Stormtrooper from the Walmart exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ action figure line. In this eBay lot, you get 48 total figures, 3 of which are Scarif Stormtroopers, and 45 are figures you probably already have, but each one comes to only $5.21 ($249.95 divided by 48). Very few lots remain. Let’s hope this figure gets carried forward into The Vintage Collection!

The 2018 phase of The Vintage Collection is already on eBay with characters already selling out briskly. The Hoth Rebel Trooper is the first to go it seems. If we ever get Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna), there will undoubtedly be people who will need skiff guards to populate it. Infamous eBay seller tunghori has some tremendous Jabba-focused aliens and other related figures in stock. Choose from the rare red bandana Kithaba, Vizam, and BAR2-D2. I have an honest question for you, so I am seeking genuine answers. For those of you on the fence with backing Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna), if Hasbro included the highly sought-after Salacious Crumb (VC66) and Mouse Droid (VC67) miniature carded figures, would that be enough to make you take the plunge? They almost never show up on eBay anymore, are HUGE holes for 95% of The Vintage Collection collectors, and go for ridiculous amounts of money on eBay. (Click either thumbnails below to see what I mean.) Let us know your thoughts in our comments. It would cost next to nothing for Hasbro to produce these and add them to this campaign as a bonus. I believe that bonus/exclusive carded figures in this campaign are what is going to push people over to deciding yes.
