Feltipern Trevagg is a bounty hunter who tracks Obi-Wan Kenobi to Tatooine after the Clone Wars but loses him. Trevagg stays on the planet and becomes a corrupt tax collector in Mos Eisley. His species is called the Gotal, who can sense emotions and energy waves that many speices can’t, a trait that comes in handy for tracking.
Hasbro had a lot on their plates between 2002 and 2005. They seemed to be endlessly running around trying to plan a solid basic figure lineup from one year to the next. 2002 and 2005 are also the years that Star Wars fans were treated to Episode II and Episode III so it’s no wonder why Hasbro was chaotically finding themselves during this period. After the fantastic 6 month run of The Original Trilogy Collection in 2004 (to celebrate the Original Trilogy on DVD), Hasbro needed something to bide the time until the brand new Revenge Of The Sith line releasing in April 2005. So, a few of the figures that they had already tooled and that were already approved by Lucasfilm, Ltd. would become what is infamously known as The [Post] Original Trilogy Collection, or POTC for short. Keep in mind that these releases are indeed part of The Original Trilogy Collection, but because Prequel Trilogy characters were going to be featured in the line, Hasbro revised the card art a bit and removed any sign of the logo as well.
This stop-gap line brought some incredible all-new action figures to the table. Specifically, no less than three all-new aliens from Chalmun’s Cantina were released. We actually find this bittersweet. Instead of becoming part of a “filler” line, they really should have been saved so that they could have been featured in a mainline, even after it meant after the Revenge Of The Sith line ran its course. Of course Star Wars collectors want to have new action figures as soon as humanly possible, so we’re thrilled they came when they did, but it’s still a bit sad that they were brought in and quickly whisked away before they could leave any relevant thumbprint on the basic figure line. Many collectors didn’t even find them in stores and many others also wished that they could have been available for a much longer time than few short months at retail. One character that fans of A New Hope have been anxiously waiting for was Feltipern Trevagg (Cantina Encounter) and they had reason to celebrate because Hasbro did a fine job on its release.
Feltipern Trevagg (Cantina Encounter) has a very dynamic sculpt. It’s evident that Hasbro spent quality time with the reference materials to develop and action figure that favorites it’s onscreen counterpart. We believe Hasbro succeeded. The figure has a healthy dose of articulation. Although we are typically bothered by swivel elbow joints, Hasbro cut the arms at an angle that actually favors the character. Let us be clear. We don’t think swivel cut elbow joints are an ideal method for articulating figures, but it certainly isn’t the worst case scenario for Feltipern Trevagg (Cantina Patron) and actually works for his benefit. He comes with a blaster pistol but there isn't a functioning holster to stow it. And he also comes with a bar glass full of some pink concoction courtesy of Wuher. We’re probably most impressed with the head sculpt on his figure. Not only is it very accurate, but it’s been painted incredibly well too. Just look at those details in his face, especially his eyes. You should be impressed as well. Feltipern Trevagg (Cantina Patron) also comes with a display stand, but these are very “old” at this point.
