The shadowy depths of Coruscant are replete with unsavory characters such as Elan Sleazebaggano, a slimy dealer of illegal substances who frequents the entertainment district's nightclubs and bars to peddle his wares. His attempt to sell death sticks to Obi-Wan Kenobi resulted in a complete change of profession after the Jedi used a gesture of influence to encourage the Slythmonger to adopt a new lifestyle.

You’ll find that there are multiple characters in the Outlander Club in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of The Clones that have ties to gangster Hat Lo. Elan Sleazebaggano is one such patron. It helps to explain why Hasbro created so many characters specifically from this sequence of film with very short times spans or contemporary time spans as the others since they are all related to one degree or another. And it also helps to show that the Star Wars universe is smaller than it appears to be, or at least that there are ties to one another more frequently than we realize. Elan Sleazebaggano, whose real name is Elan Sel’Sabagno by the way, is the medical student drug dealer who tries to push death sticks on Obi-Wan Kenobi before Master Kenobi used a Jedi mind trick on him so Elan would go home and rethink his life. Hasbro developed both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Elan Sleazebaggano after this very scene in Episode II, and for the most part the final results are better than average. Elan Sleazebaggano (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) is a nicely sculpted Star Wars action figure, but his accessories are perhaps more interesting. No matter what, the figure and companion pieces are done very well and it should impress discriminating collectors.

You may be interested to know that there are two unique head sculpts for this action figure. In production photos, this character had ears. They were ultimately removed and replaced with antennapalps for the final version of the film just because of the redundancy of these body parts. Hasbro referenced the production stills and put the figure into production. Eventually (actually quickly) the mistake was caught and a running corrected change was released. It’s just out opinion, but we feel the appearance of the character looks better with the ears showing and the “beard portion” removed. Sometimes you have to forsake logic in lieu of what looks the best. While not super-articulated, Elan Sleazebaggano (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) does have an excellent sculpt. His costume and both head sculpt likenesses all look pretty good. It may come as a surprise to you, but his outer coat isn't removable, at least not without causing some "permanent" damage to our sample. He comes with minimally standard articulation, plus a few extra points and he can maintain a pose without any issue. As an action figure that will most likely serve its purpose as diorama fodder, you really don’t need him to have a ton of articulation. He will just stand around and look good. Trust us, that’s all you need here.

One of the nicest part about buying Elan Sleazebaggano (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) is the bar section with which he comes. (Obi-Wan Kenobi (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) (’03 #39) comes with the other half of it.) The bar section is designed extremely well. It’s the perfect shape and height and it has the same curvature as seen in the film. What’s more, inside of the bar section is a specially designed interior that serves as a glass holder where the included bar glasses can be stored and hung from it upside down…. just like a real bar. You may not be able to have Elan Sleazebaggano (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) lean any which way you desire thanks to his rather upright posture, but there is no denying that he looks pretty incredible when posed standing next to it. It’s a far cry from a cantina bar section of a cantina character (from Episode IV) for that matter, but this character definitely has some charm. Elan Sleazebaggano (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) also comes with a blaster in addition to a set of his infamous death sticks. They can be held in his hand very well and for this we appreciate Hasbro ensuring that the action figures they make can hold their accessories. Elan Sleazebaggano (Outlander Nightclub Encounter) is an interesting action figure. But he will help round out an Outlander Club diorama.
