A Jedi must always be well equipped for any circumstance. Obi-Wan Kenobi, a loyal and disciplined Jedi, is often sent by the Jedi Council to resolve matters on worlds where the environment is very cold. He often must prepare for these missions by bringing special gear with him to handle the colder temperatures.

Hey! Check it out! It’s Han Solo in his Hoth outfit but through the eyes of the Prequel Trilogy instead! That’s about the most perfect six-second summation you will ever find when describing the Power Of The Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) action figure. At first glance, many thought Hasbro was playing a trick on us, because Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) looks exactly like a Han Solo (Hoth Outfit) action figure so much it’s scary. More importantly, it’s also a very cool action figure as well. The Power Of The Jedi line has culled characters from across the Star Wars saga up to and including the Expanded Universe. Based on an episode of the Star Wars: Jedi Quest comics, a four-issue series that was released in 2001, Obi-Wan Kenobi trained in cold weather climates to attain Jedi Knight ranking. Right on time, Hasbro has been inspired to create the very first character from that series in action figure form, and it is truly an incredible action figure. The sculpt is beyond phenomenal and the design and accessories of the action figure are everything you’d expect from Hasbro. What sets this figure apart from other action figures that come with cool interactive accessories is the level of detail applied to each and every part of him. Destined to be one of Hasbro’s great accomplishments in the line, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) is not an action figure to overlook.

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) comes with the standard six points of articulation. A swivel head, is joined by two swivel shoulders, a swivel waist and two swivel hips. Admittedly, this isn’t really enough articulation for such an impressive sculpt, but one thing is for sure and that is that the aesthetics are not hampered one bit by clunky and harsh lines. The sculpt’s articulation is seamless and the figure looks just plain amazing. If you can imagine the Han Solo (Hoth Outfit) character for a moment or two, you know how much detail went into the quilted waffle pattern of the parka and pants. And even the boots have an incredible amount of detail as well. All of that has been brought to the table here as well, but in an elevated way. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) is wearing cleats, he is wearing a faux turtleneck shirt with a scoop hood and his belt and gloves finish off the outfit with stunning detail. It’s a bit humorous, but it looks like Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) has a Star Wars version of a soda can attached to his belt, complete with tab visible to open it up. Next to that is a lasso which hands from his back. It’s these little nuances of stunning detail that work together to set Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) apart from so many other action figures already produced, and likely as well as those that haven't even been contrived yet.

There are two holes on his back which accept two plugs on the survival backpack. It's a bit obtrusive, but hardly a deal breaker. This helps to keep it in place, but there is also a thick strap which crosses over his chest that is also permanently attached to the survival backpack as well which gives him his truly unique look. The survival backpack is another glorious detail to this action figure. It has multiple colors in the deco, but has a gorgeous final wash which gives shows its age and how often it has been used. The tiniest of details have been beautifully etched into this accessory in a very impressive manner. We are thrilled with how cool it looks. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Cold Weather Gear) has a great center of gravity and can maintain static poses without any issue at all. His arms hang away from his body a bit, but this is a great feature because it helps with posing the included lightsaber in his hands so it looks natural. The lightsaber accessory is more of the same, but it also helps to pay homage to that Han Solo (Hoth Outfit) action figure since Han used it to split the belly of the tauntaun in order to save Luke’s life. Lastly, we love the removable cap/goggles combination piece. It fits beautifully on top of the gorgeous portrait and gives Obi-Wan yet another very distinguished appearance. We’re thoroughly impressed with this figure. We also feel everyone else should be as well.
