Pote Snitkin worked as a helmsman for Jabba the Hutt. The Skrilling piloted one of Jabba's desert skiffs before foolishly battling Jedi Luke Skywalker over the Great Pit of Carkoon.

When collectors look back on the long legacy Hasbro left for them, The Power Of The Force “2” Freeze Frame line may go down in history as one of the most collector-focused lines ever. Not only did they update many of the main characters from the Original Trilogy (once again), they also added a few more long-awaited characters that hadn’t been tried yet in the modern line. But perhaps most importantly, Hasbro added a few gems, figures that most of us never even thought would ever see the light of day, into the Freeze Frame lineup and it elated fans and collectors in ways that just hadn’t been felt before this. Take for instance Pote Snitkin. Although this never before made skiff guard was an internet exclusive, fans couldn’t be happier about getting him made in 3.75” scale for the very first time ever. The action figure is quite a marvel. It seems as if it is years ahead of its time. Keeping in mind that the same basic six points of articulation has been included with Pote Snitkin, the figure rises above most of Hasbro previous back catalogue because of the sculpt and paint operations. Pote Snitkin truly steps to the front of the line with quality and coolness that not many other figures can claim.

Pote Snitkin’s sculpt is magnificent. We would love to see enhanced articulation in figures whose sculpt is this good, but you probably won’t mind at all. This Skrilling just mans the second skiff in Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi and does nothing more than fall off and into the maw of the mighty Sarlacc. You’re probably not going to need more articulation than what he comes with so there is little reason to be disappointed with how he was tooled. Then again, we are super-articulation junkies so more articulation would always make us happy. Pote Snitkin comes with a removable tunic which is impressively detailed. What’s nice about this piece of clothing being removable is that he doesn’t look silly without it. He is actually wearing a sleeveless orange shirt underneath of it so his outfit looks complete with or without it. One thing about the tunic however is that is severely limits his articulation. It has been molded to keep his arms in certain positions. (It can be a bit frustrating. This is where soft-goods would have really benefitted the figure greatly.) Pote Snitkin also comes with a force pike and blaster pistol. Hasbro calls it a blaster pistol, but it’s huge and we’d be more inclined to call it a heavy blaster rifle. Either way, the accessories befit him nicely.

Besides donning cool accessories and possessing an artful sculpt, Pote Snitkin also has a glorious paint job. He is stocky just like the onscreen character, but his unique characteristics are accentuated via the stunning paint job Kenner/Hasbro gave this figure. You’re going to be very impressed with how he turned out. He is also weighty. It feels like you’re getting something of substance with this action figure. Part of the final wave of The Power Of The Force “2” Freeze Frame figures line, Pote Snitkin was temporarily canceled and then relegated to become an online internet exclusive along with three other figures. What made this suck is that his MSRP literally doubled. You could only get him (at that time) for a gut-punching $9.99 each. Most collectors found this to be unforgivable and boycotted the figure in protest. This must have worked because just months later Pote Snitkin and company could be found at Toys R Us during their great POTF2 purge for a paltry $1.99 each. (There were even reports of $.99 each.) If we had to complain about Pote Snitkin, we would have to point out that his head is nearly unable to be turned, but other than that we are quite pleased with this figure. We don’t ever expect Hasbro to revisit this character ever again. This is likely the one and only time you will be able to get him.
