An accident during a furious speeder bike chase leaves the princess without a way of finding her Rebel companions. Befriended by Endor's Ewok civilization, Leia is once again united with her friends, but under different circumstances.

She hurts so good. That’s about how we are able to sum up our feelings surrounding the bittersweet Princess Leia Organa (In Ewok Celebration Outfit) figure which is part of The Power Of The Force “2” Freeze Frame line. This isn’t the first time Hasbro attempted to make her into 3.75” format. Originally part of a two-pack in the Princess Leia Collection in 1997, a line whose marketing was geared to girls to hopefully get more of them into the Star Wars line too. While the Princess Leia Collection figures were definitely unique in that they had soft-goods and screen inaccurate makeup and accessories (again to appeal to young girls), some of their approaches superseded the way their collector counterparts were done. Let us be more specific. Princess Leia Organa (In Ewok Celebration Outfit) looks good, and her coloring is very close to what we saw in the film, but we feel the use of soft-goods and “real hair” made the Princess Leia Collection version a little bit better. Had Hasbro colored that figure correctly and done away with the big eyes and extra makeup, it might have been the better of these two figures. The long front braids that adorn the Princess Leia Collection figure are missing from the Freeze Frame version. (Well, they’re there, but barely noticeable and hang behind her.)

Many people disregard the Princess Leia Collection version of this figure, but it would be a disservice to not acknowledge that the figure does merit your consideration. Let’s talk about the Freeze Frame version though because this is the one that has been made for us. Right off of the bat, we must comment that we despise the way her legs have been molded. They are so awkwardly angled in fact that our many samples of her cannot stand up without careful balancing. We consider that a complete failure alone. Another issue is her scale. Princess Leia Organa (In Ewok Celebration Outfit) is gigantic when compared to other co-starring characters in the basic figure line. It’s a shame that they got her height so much more accurate with the Princess Leia Collection version and not this one. Likewise, her blaster is ridiculously large as well. And what the heck? She didn’t even have this blaster in any of the scenes wearing this outfit. So consider us annoyed. Princess Leia Organa (In Ewok Celebration Outfit) does have a decent paint job, but does that really matter when Luke Skywalker and Han Solo are competing for who is the tallest in this line with Princess Leia Organa (In Ewok Celebration Outfit) being a likely contender as the winner? She also has man hands, something unbecoming for a princess.

We just can’t get into the sculpting of her hair either. Granted, the Princess Leia Collection version has a similar approach, but her hair wasn’t as territorial and the inclusion of real hair draping down the front of her made the final figure appear so much nicer. (And let us not forget about the very nice soft-goods skirt they gave that figure too.) We don’t mean to keep harping on it, but it is a shame the way they sculpted the feet and legs on Princess Leia Organa (In Ewok Celebration Outfit). It will never make sense to us why Hasbro would ever sculpt legs and feet that couldn’t meet the ground at a 90 degree angle to preserve a figure’s center of gravity. It is borderline enraging. The tricks you need to do to get her to stand unassisted is frustrating beyond belief. Great deco and even a great sculpt don’t exonerate a figure from possessing the inability to stand up by itself. A key outfit in the final chapter of the Original Trilogy, we wish Kenner/Hasbro would have approached this version of the princess a little more carefully. We would like to see a resculpt from the ground up because this figure doesn’t cut the mustard. We’re still more partial to the Princess Leia Collection version, and that figure is just wrong. Hopefully that gives you a better assessment of where we stand with this figure.
