Zuckuss answers Darth Vader's call for bounty hunters to help locate the Millennium Falcon and her crew.

Zuckuss is seemingly the caboose of the bounty hunter train. He is now the last bounty hunter from The Empire Strikes Back to be released in both the vintage and modern eras and it’s probably been because of similar reasons. Both were the most complex (as far as outfits are concerned) and probably needed a little more thinking and designing to make the efforts come to fruition. As a result, Zuckuss may just be the nicest bounty hunter of the entire The Power Of The Force “2” era because he is proportionate, well-sculpted and has intricate paint operations which we have been dying to see Kenner/Hasbro go to town on for a long time now. It’s probably a good things that Kenner/Hasbro waited to release this bounty hunter as part of the Freeze Frame facet of The Power Of The Force “2” line. This branch of POTF2 has dramatically toned down the bulkiness of the figures and instead concentrated on authenticity. The figures still come with minimal simple articulation (six swivel points to be exact), but if you carefully inspect Zuckuss you’ll see that they really left out no detail too great or small on the figure. Collectors are going to be very pleased with this interpretation of this Gand bounty hunter.

As previously mentioned, Zuckuss comes with six points of articulation. This isn’t the most useful articulation system, but it’s adequate enough for displaying the figure on your shelf. His loang cloak sheel is a major inhibitor of all articulation points anyway. In short, you’re not going to get much out of this figure if you’re looking to pose him in dynamic ways. The strength of this figure however is its sculpt and paint job. Zuckus honestly has never looked better, almost a miniature replica of the character in the film. The head sculpt is purely excellent and captures every last detail of this insectoid bounty hunter. Out most favorite part however is the paint operation on the cloak. There are countless brushstrokes of white that give it a unique texture (and it also brings out the tooled texture as well) and help give the collector an idea of what this clothing would look and feel like in person had you the opportunity to touch it. It’s these little things that make a simple action figure all the more special. And Kenner/Hasbro has an uncanny ability to do this consistently well. Zuckuss is also shorter than the other bounty hunters which is also screen accurate. The only issue we have now is that the impressiveness of Zuckuss sadly ages the designs of the previous bounty hunters. We needs “redos” of them all again now.

It’s very difficult to remove, but the cloak shell on Zuckuss is indeed removable. Underneath is a very complex costume that we imagine none of us had every expected to see. The tooling is quite impressive. Also, Hasbro spent a great deal of time decorating his body underneath with various colors. Zuckuss also comes with signature and very unique blaster rifle. It’s nowhere near as bulky as most of the weapons in the POTF2 line. We’re impressed with its design. Packed alongside Zuckuss is the standard pack-in for the “Freeze Frame” phase of The Power Of The Force “2” lineup. These collectible additions are sought after by collectors. After all, who wouldn’t want a single frame a Star Wars celluloid in his collection? Zuckuss’ Freeze Frame image is a lineup of all of the bounty hunter of the bridge of the Executor. It is a sight to behold of course. The Empire Strikes Back is no doubt a fan favorite film. But there are the fewest characters in that film. As a result, Kenner/Hasbro needs to release action figures based on this film is a more sporadic fashion than A New Hope or Return Of The Jedi. That’s OK with us though. If they are able to continue making action figures as great as Zuckuss, collectors have a lot to look forward to in the future.
