C-3PO cannot convince the Ewoks to free his friends, until Luke uses his Force powers to make the droid "fly" around the village – causing the Ewoks to believe the droid is a god who should be obeyed. At last, C-3PO is able to make the Ewoks understand he has no desire in partaking of a meal made up of Han, Luke and Chewbacca.

Hasbro released a fantastic update to C-3PO in The Saga Collection. The figure was based on 2005's ROTS C-3PO (III 18) figure, but included articulated legs which allowed him to be seated on a newly sculpted Ewok throne. The figure went over hugely with collectors and quickly became part of the Saga Legends line. Making its debut in the Legacy Collection Saga Legends lineup, C-3PO has also been carried forward into the "red" Legacy Collection lineup as well. We're pretty sure he will be a hit with kids and collectors once again. Likely to remain one of the best versions of C-3PO for years to come, the original 2006 TSC C-3PO (With Ewok Throne) (SAGA 042) action figure is first and foremost an incredible value for your dollar. Repacks can become cumbersome with each successive release, but C-3PO seems like a wise figure to keep at retail each and every time. Don't forget that we also get a wonderful accessory, which comes partially disassembled in the packaging, the Ewok throne. It’s really mind boggling anymore how Hasbro manages to incorporate such large accessories with their basic figures especially when so many things are cost prohibitive. And for this release we also get a locker full of extra weapons as well!

C-3PO is a slight repaint of 2006's TSC C-3PO (With Ewok Throne) (SAGA 042) action figure. The entire upper body with removable head and arms was carried forward from 2005's ROTS C-3PO (III 18) figure, but everything below these parts was originally all-new parts. The big selling point on this figure were the legs with ball-jointed like articulation (sort of) added to them. This is what allows him to sit on the throne. This double-jointed feature is new to the basic figure line and it works perfectly for C-3PO. C-3PO is a bit shorter than the base 2005 sculpt, but this is to be expected when new parts are created and added to existing tools. Hasbro also for the first time added hinge-jointed knees to help assist with easy seating in the Ewok throne. C-3PO's arms could have really used some additional retooling to add additional articulation, but this is the best we’ve got for now. The arms are definitely limiting and we'd love to see enhanced articulation added to them, but that's not happening right now. The good news is that Hasbro utilized the correctly colored knee joints for this release. Overall, this is still a great version of C-3PO for the 2009 product year.

The Ewok throne that C-3PO comes with is a marvel. It is excellently designed and is quite simple to put together. It actually looks like real wood (albeit too shiny) and we're truly impressed with Hasbro's craftsmanship here. Once assembled it is difficult to find the connection points thanks to great engineering of this piece. The throne is primarily cast in brown plastic, but the backing and seat of the chair are painted with a subtle but excellent looking paint operations that should really impress you. C-3PO fits absolutely perfectly in his throne and it’s literally one of the best interacting figure and accessory combinations we have seen in a very long time. What’s more, the chair comes with two very long carrying posts that are curved on the ends so you can choose two random Ewoks to carry him to the Ewok village. How nice is that? Is this the consummate C-3PO action figure? We would have to say absolutely not. But it’s a great start for an even better future C-3PO action figure. And to give credit where credit is due, we’d have to admit that this is probably the most perfect action figure for the Ewok throne. It’s a great little set here. We’d suggest not missing out on it.
