A silent and imposing warrior, Saesee Tiin sits with Mace Windu on the Jedi Council. Though he rarely speaks, his contributions in both debate and battle are unmatched. Resolute in his convictions of what is honorable and right, Tiin stands with Mace Windu as they attempt to arrest the Chancellor.

When Revenge Of The Sith came to be in 2005, Hasbro released one of their most aggressive basic figure lines based on a Star Wars film ever. The Revenge Of The Sith toy line was as equally exciting as Episode III the film and some of the coolest action figures made by Hasbro were developed for both kids and collectors. Keep in mind that half of the basic figure line was geared towards the kids. But the action figures that fell under the Collection 2 banner were geared for collectors and some of them even today remain fine specimens for your collection. Take for instance 2005’s ROTS Saesee Tiin (III 30) figure. Years after its release, while not entirely perfect, still holds up very well. Only one year had passed before Hasbro refreshed the figure with a slightly different paint operation, added a soft-goods Jedi robe and made it part of 2006’s TSC Jedi Vs. Darth Sidious Battle Packs set. Then it was slightly changed for 2007's TAC Saga Legends assortment.

And that’s the version of Saesee Tiin that was chosen for the 2009 LC Saga Legends line. Yes, we needed this figure as much as a hole in the head. Never a Fans’ Choice figure, Hasbro decided that Saesee Tiin was consistent and much-needed figure for the "greatest hits" line. We think initially he was a very wise choice for the line, but it's fair to say he has overstayed his welcome now. So many (most) of the Jedi in the Revenge Of The Sith line lacked their outer robes which really affected the aesthetics of the character. That’s been resolved right now for Saesee Tiin. Our only concern is how well Saesee Tiin will hold up in the modern basic figure line, since its sculpt originates in 2005. The figure isn’t definitive by any means. It comes with 16 points of articulation and he comes with swivel elbows, something that many collectors see as something abhorrent and not welcomed. Thankfully the Saesee Tiin action figure has a number of very good qualities to distract you from its faults.

Saesee Tiin’s strengths lie in his head sculpt and detail. Although his paint job is rather simple, the pattern on the back of his head is extraordinary – some of the greatest painted details we can recall on any action figure released to date. The actual portrait is stunning, and we don’t even think it looks all that much like the onscreen character. Of course the long horns and the shape of his head looks like Saesee Tiin, but the areas around his eyes and brow look quite a bit differently from the character we saw defeated by Darth Sidious in Episode III. With all of the parts assembled, Saesee Tiin looks fantastic. The bulkiness of the robes isn’t overbearing, yet it gives a natural “action shot feel” to the action figure just by the way it flares out from the figure. Saesee Tiin is inevitably a staple figure for the basic figure line. Hasbro seems to like him a lot, so maybe you should start if you don’t already. This is his third chance as a Saga Legends release. This doesn't include his incessant repackaging in other sub-lines like Battle Packs and other multipacks either.
