Padmé comes to realize that her beloved Anakin is falling to the dark side of the Force. She makes a desperate attempt to convince him to return to the side of good before it is too late.

Anakin Skywalker broke her heart. And it was her broken heart that brought about her untimely death. But before Padmé died, she gave birth to two infants that would become two of the galaxy’s most influential heroes. Padmé Amidala was forever immortalized in her Mustafar outfit and pregnant in the Revenge Of The Sith line. And the figure was done so well that she has been carried forward into The Saga Collection's The Episode III Greatest Battles Collection. Hasbro did a very good job on the costuming and her head sculpt, and the final figure looks very good. An even mix of both ball-jointed and swivel-jointed points of articulation make up the action figure. And a believable faux suede soft-goods skirt has been added to bring this figure to life. Hasbro cleverly included a “belly” here and she really looks pregnant. They’ve done this very modestly so that it isn’t blatantly noticeable at first. At this point in Revenge Of The Sith, Padmé’s role was a Republic Senator but most of her activity in forming the Rebel Alliance was relegated to the cutting room floor and she spent most of the film in disbelief that her husband had turned to evil.

The action figure of Padmé come with a pretty and feminine head sculpt. Female action figures haven’t been too consistent in Hasbro’s Star Wars line over the years, but this version of Padmé is very impressive. What's more, they updated the paint operations with this release so that they're more neatly applied. There isn't any misplaced eyes or overspray that we can see with this version. She isn’t disproportionate in any part of her body and she has been designed to be the perfect height. With this perfect of a template created, it’s a shame that Hasbro didn’t bring more versions of her into the basic figure line. After all, Padmé wore a plethora of new outfits in Episode III. The action figure is a triumph in other ways as well. The coloring is as close to perfect as you’d expect and her proportions are even better. The action figure of her comes with an impressive range of articulation points. A ball-socket head is accompanied by a ball-jointed torso, ball-jointed shoulders and knees and the remaining points are all swivel. Padmé still has a wonderful range of motion despite not being made fully-articulated. She has been outfitted with a blaster pistol and she also comes with a Mustafar inspired environmental action figure display stand.

The conclusion of Revenge Of The Sith was very sad. We witnessed Padmé Amidala losing her will to live which led to her subsequent death. We saw the birth of Darth Vader and how his lust and greed for power lead him to a very destructive demise. And we saw the separation of the twin siblings that would grow up without each other and not meet again until some fateful moment years later. But keeping in mind that this film was meant to be a cliffhanger of sorts to Episode IV, George Lucas did a fantastic job of tying most of the loose ends together. In tandem, Hasbro did a fantastic job in getting the most core characters into the basic figure line. Many of the characters missed the boat and didn’t make it in time for the Revenge Of The Sith line, but all of us know that many of the characters yet to be made will be coming at a later date. It’s just the nature of the beast. But we think you should count yourselves lucky that such a fine specimen as this Padmé figure was one of the first ones conceived for the line, no pun intended. It's great that Hasbro reissued her in this "greatest hits" line. She also comes with a miniature hologram figure if you're into such things.
