There is a general consensus that Hasbro has come extremely far in the 5POA line. And the general consensus is that General Hux is one of the highlights of the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] line. If you recall, General Hux made his debut appearance in the 3.75” action figure range under The Force Awakens Build A Weapon assortment. He was wearing a cap that time and his sculpt wasn’t half bad. Well, Hasbro has now taken General Hux to new limits and tooled what we’ll easily consider the best version of General Hux to date for the 3.75” scaled line. This time General Hux isn’t wearing a cap, and for the first time in 3.75” scale, Hasbro has tooled a separate jacket shell which is removable. When the jacket shell is removed you’re able to get another version of General Hux, but it’s unbeknownst to us if this creates a second screen-accurate version of the character. Regardless, the figure looks complete without this separate addition and we’re very happy that Hasbro has made this an option for General Hux. Additionally, Hasbro has brought for the Mouse Droid which was first released with 2017’s RO Galen Erso figure to accompany this First Order leader (with a couple of changes like glued down panels this time) on his various missions to defeat the Resistance.

We’re taken with General Hux’s head sculpt. His hair color may strike you as too bright as it does to us, but yet there is something redemptive about it too. It doesn’t look as off as much as you think it does. What’s more, General Hux’s hairline has been decorated with such care, precision and accuracy that it adds to the realism of this figure, as ironic as that sounds. He has a layered look thanks to his beautifully sculpted costume and removable jacket shell. And thanks to the great attention to detail, General Hux’s coat has been adorned with the First Order insignia on his left shoulder. There are also four beautiful silver rings on his left sleeve which must show his ranking of some sort. We’re also happy to note that his coat has a duller finish than his outfit (which appears shinier) and it breaks up the monotony and helps to once again add to that layered look. General Hux looks great. By the way, this figure turned out it almost makes sense why Hasbro wanted to start from the drawing board again with this character and develop a truly special figure. From his stunning profile to his detailer ears. From his professional pose to his included accessories, General Hux is an action figure we didn’t realize we would favor sp greatly as we have.

Altogether, General Hux comes with three separate accessories. This, of course, is a generous amount for a 5POA action figure. In addition to the jacket shell and the Mouse Droid, General Hux also includes a blaster pistol. While he has no holster on his uniform to stow it when not in use, the blaster pistol has been nicely tooled and can fit in his hands very well. We couldn’t ask for more when it comes to the accessories of this figure. Hasbro did a wonderful job here. We encourage you to try to remove the coat on General Hux so you can see for yourself how awesome he looks in this alternate take. He really looks fantastic. Like all of the figures in the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] case assortment, General Hux has the ability to talk thanks to a chip placed within his torso and the utilization of the Force Link wristband. This cool interact between figure and electronics is a success from the feedback we have received from readers. Their kids appear to really enjoy the Force Link functionality. Even Hasbro has stated they’d like to see Force Link continue in the future of the line. It does take some time to get the Force Link to function at full potential, but once you figure it out you’ll find out just how fun it can be. We’re really happy with how well the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] General Hux action figure turned out. We hope his character brings more to the Star Wars universe than just being a hothead like he was in The Force Awakens. But as an action figure, he shines.
