So we guess Finn is still alive. One of the biggest peg-warmers after Constable Zuvio was Finn. The Black Series [Phase III] Finn (FN-2187) performed well, but Finn in his basic The Force Awakens gear just didn’t do that well at all. As one of the main characters, Hasbro must include him in the newest case assortments for a new Star Wars film. But couldn’t they have chosen a different outfit for him as they did in the 6” line? Sure. Finn (Resistance Fighter) is different than the Episode VII Finn. This time he is wearing a white undershirt instead of a black one. His jacket is open, and his pants and shoes are relatively the same. Instead of just plain Finn or FN-2187, Finn has a more proper name of Finn (Resistance Fighter) which shows us all that he has officially become part of the Resistance. He has rejected his former belief system and has decided to become an agent of good and continue to fight for everyone’s freedom in the galaxy.
Perhaps Hasbro believed that the inclusion of the Force Link technology would help Finn (Resistance Fighter) be a little bit more of a stronger seller. Admittedly, the Force Link wristband technology is a lot of fun for kids of all ages. But will a “talking” Finn (Resistance Fighter) action figure save this figure from impending peg-warming status? Only time will tell. The figure has a fair likeness of actor John Boyega, but we still think Hasbro could have taken the sculpt further to create a slightly better likeness. His stance is a little bit wonky, definitely scene agnostic at best. The paint operations are alright we suppose, but in all honesty, this is one of the most boring figures in the entire Star Wars [The Last Jedi] line to date. So it maybe doesn’t matter so much paint he's been given. He just isn’t exciting enough to pay attention to this detail. If you like simple, then Finn (Resistance Fighter) is the action figure for you. It doesn’t get simpler than this.
Finn (Resistance Fighter) comes with two accessories. The first is his Resistance blaster rifle. It doesn’t have any painted details on it but instead cast in a coppery tan color which has some metallic elements to it. The other accessory is his removable jacket shell. Of course, he looks serious when not wearing the shell because his sleeves remain mustard yellow with or without the middle portion worn. The figure isn’t the worse action figure Star Wars collectors have seen of course. He is just boring. Finn (Resistance Fighter) can still stand unassisted, has a fair likeness, has nice paint operations and comes with a cool, Force Link feature. Just based on that he has nothing more or less going for him than the average 5POA action figure in the Star Wars line. But for us, we just think Hasbro should have gone a different way with this character. We’re a little bit envious they didn’t opt for the Finn (First Order Disguise) instead. That would have been a more interesting choice.
