Now we’re talking! How is it that we’ve reached an era of Star Wars collecting where Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) is exclusive in all action figure formats? This iteration of our most-favorite Jedi ever was part of The Vintage Collection’s Luke Skywalker Jedi Destiny Set Special Action Figure Set (a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive), The Black Series [Phase III] Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure (a Walmart exclusive), and now the Galaxy Of Adventures Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure (also a Walmart exclusive). It’s a bit of a chore to process how all of these figures are exclusive in one way or another. Regardless, we’re thankful that Hasbro is making them, no matter the method they release them. The Galaxy Of Adventures line is already off to a great start, but the inclusion of Original Trilogy characters will only bolster the line to greater heights. The Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure is out most favorite character in the line thus far. Hasbro worked in a surprise or two into this action figure. We’ll go over them all, but let us reiterate once more that Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) is a highlight in the Galaxy Of Adventures line, and we hope that all fans of super-articulated figures will give this line a chance.

You can’t tell when the figure is packaged, but Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) comes with two distinct looks: the way he appeared in the first and second act of Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi, and the third act, as he appeared dueling Darth Vader on Death Star II. Hasbro, in an astonishing move, tooled a molded removable tunic. We tried our best to recall the many Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figures Hasbro produced throughout the years where they tooled a separate and removable tunic, and aside from one from a Legacy Collection Battle Packs set that was made from soft-goods, we cannot think of another example, and no examples of a removable molded tunic. They designed it beautifully. It doesn’t look bulky on the figure, and it’s simple to remove it and replace it as needed for whatever look you’re trying to achieve. Underneath of the tunic is an open collar with the white underside folded now, to recreate what his shirt looked like in his final moments of battling Darth Vader on the second Death Star. Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) looks fantastic with or without the tunic on him, so collectors have great flexibility with this costume option. Hasbro did an excellent job here. They should be commended.

Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) comes with his signature lightsaber. Unfortunately, the lightsabers in this line do not break down into a hilt and blade. So, we only have a lit lightsaber to contend with here. It doesn’t matter. It’s a lovely designed accessory loaded with detail. And aside from having a hilt that feels too thick for the figure’s hands, the lightsaber is a welcomed addition. Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) comes with an articulation system that should impress most lovers of action figures that move. Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) can achieve a wealth of poses. The ball-socket hips allow for his legs to spread wide for agile and action-oriented positions, and the super-articulation in the arms and legs give the figure an extra edge for finer things, like the proper angle of the lightsaber while you have him wield it. As you can see, we’re in love with the Galaxy Of Adventures Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) action figure. A Walmart exclusive, it’s a shame this figure won’t get a wider distribution than from this retailer. Aside from the “lightsaber slash” action feature, Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) is a near-perfect action figure, provided you’re a fan of animated-styled action figures. We hope this line takes off because everything released so far is fantastic.
