The Power Of The Force “2” line went through a small metamorphosis when the line entered 1998. Kenner/Hasbro added a “The Kenner Collection” logo at the top right of all new products released in the 1998 calendar year. Some packaging sustained changes, too, and the Collector Series line transitioned into the Action Collection line. With revised “window box” packaging and new attention to details seen in the films, Kenner/Hasbro produced an upgraded line of 12 Inch Figures that took the larger-scaled line to new heights. Emperor Palpatine was one character selected for the line, and Kenner/Hasbro did a remarkable job on the figure. There are a couple of things different with this release than other figures in the line. Emperor Palpatine’s soft-goods hood is sewn to the figure’s head. Also, Emperor Palpatine's head is unable to articulate. However, it appears Kenner/Hasbro utilized an upgraded body below the head as Emperor Palpatine comes with decent articulation. The soft-goods outer robe and inner robes have natural drapes, and although the included cane is MUCH too long, we appreciate that they included it here. Emperor Palpatine’s portrait is stunning, and we hope that Kenner/Hasbro keeps up making excellent figures like this for the Star Wars toy line.
