Imperial snowtroopers have penetrated Echo Base and prepare to destroy it.

One of the most eagerly anticipated Action Collection figures was the Snowtrooper. Hasbro must have been eager to release it to collectors as well because they released a version of the character with incorrect coloring and markings, which resulted in a corrected running change following it. The first version of the Snowtrooper came with extra blue details (like the filled-in chest armor boxes), blue lines outlining the “buckle” of the uniform. And most obvious, the first version of the Snowtrooper came with orange stripes on its boots, which Kenner/Hasbro changed to “all-white” for the corrected release. But after they corrected the coloring issues, the "all-white" version came with a mask that was much too long in the front. They quickly corrected this issue with a trimmed-down update. Despite the multiple deco changes made from the first version to the second, Kenner/Hasbro produced an excellent figure. Collectors of the line were happy with the final product. Faithfully reproduced from The Empire Strikes Back, the mostly white costume is strewn with dirt and “wear and tear” that gives it a lived-in look, giving it an authentic look and feel. The Snowtrooper has a nice range of movement, but the boots are big and soft and don’t provide the necessary support to keep the figure balanced without support. It’s a bit aggravating to deal with this center of gravity issue. The Snowtrooper comes with an E-11 blaster that fires a red projectile. It adds play value for kids, but collectors don’t normally care about such things. One of the highlights of the 1998 Action Collection line, the Snowtrooper will hold its own for years to come, and will perhaps remain one of Kenner/Hasbro’s finest moments.
