Commemorate the first 50 years of Lucasfilm with figures inspired by Star Wars book and comics!

Jaxxon is a nearly 6-foot tall, green-fured, Lepi smuggler and captain of the Rabit's Foot. Known for his wise cracks and high kicks, Jaxxon has helped Han Solo and Chewbacca out on more than one occasion.

There’s probably not a more painful move by Hasbro than the release of Jaxxon in The Black Series 6” line. Jaxxon is a character that has been on 3.75-inch wish lists for longer than you may realize. When the character made its debut in Star Wars 8: Eight for Aduba-3, the landscape of the Star Wars universe changed. Star Wars 8: Eight for Aduba-3 is the eighth issue of the Expanded Universe comic book series called Star Wars. Marvel Comics first published it on November 8, 1977. It features the story that introduces Han Solo and Chewbacca to a cast of new characters, including Jaxxon. Jaxxon once again hit the radar of Star Wars fans when the character made an appearance in the 2019 issue of Star Wars 108: Forever Crimson. Since then, the petitioning for Hasbro to produce the character again reached a fever pitch. And now, part of The Black Series [Lucasfilm 50] line, Jaxxon enters the toy line as a 6-inch figure, much to the chagrin of 3.75-inch purists everywhere. We hope that Hasbro is planning a comics sub-line for The Vintage Collection too.

Jaxxon is a character longtime Star Wars collectors wanted for years in their collections. Hasbro literally said they would NEVER make the character into an action figure. They believed the design and the antic were too outlandish for anyone to take seriously. Something changed at Hasbro, and now they’ve produced a deliriously gorgeous version of the character for the 6-inch line. It’s a novel action figure, but it may be one of Hasbro’s highlights of the year. With an excellent design, including a stunning portrait and a phenomenal articulation system, it will be interesting to see how well Jaxxon performs overall in a collection of four comics characters Hasbro produced the 50th Anniversary of Lucasfilm. Hasbro based Jaxxon on the character’s most recent comics appearance, so the costume is updated and fresh. But those who loved the class Marvel Comics’ interpretation of Jaxxon, well, you might feel a little left out in the cold. Either way, it’s a miracle that Hasbro produced Jaxxon for any Star Wars action figure line, so we should all count our blessings.

Jaxxon comes with green curly/wavy fur. The figure has an expression that borders on looking angry. We can’t help but be reminded of the “bunny” that got pulled out of the magic hat from Twilight Zone: The Movie. Jaxxon doesn’t look THAT mean, but there is a "creepy" expression of angst evident on the figure’s face. Jaxxon uses little all-new tooling primarily. It's based on previous sculpts of Luke Skywalker and the TIE Pilot released earlier in the 6" line. Most of the figure is recycled, but it looks as if they're new again thanks to the seamless incorporation. For accessories, Jaxxon comes with two identical blaster pistols. One fits into the right hand beautifully, but the left hand isn’t as accommodating. The figure can still hold both of them simultaneously, however. The most impressive aspect of Jaxxon is the packaging. Hasbro went hard to capture the spirit of the comics’ artwork and develop the box to look like a book that opens. It’s so good that we feel Hasbro’s graphics and art team should get some awards for the innovative packaging style. It’s colorful and captures the antics of Jaxxon within the drawings. Jaxxon has an MSRP of $24.99 and is available exclusively through the Fan Channel.
