Commemorate the first 50 years of Lucasfilm with figures inspired by the original Star Wars trilogy!

We feel that the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary “The Power Of The Force “2”-themed” are some of the worst exclusives produced by Hasbro to date. With the stunning packaging made throughout the years, you’d think Hasbro would recreate a line that looks akin to The Saga Collection or the 30 (77-07) lines instead. Not The Power Of The Force “2”. Why they felt the era of superhero-esque action figures with glaring red or green packaging was a good idea, they decided to go with this kneejerk reaction. Whatever. Greedo, Han Solo, and Luke Skywalker make up the following three characters to celebrate Lucasfilm’s five-decade existence. What complicates things is that Hasbro already represented Greedo on a Star Wars card with the figure in the original color scheme of 1979’s SW Greedo figure. Now, Hasbro repainted the figure to match 1996’s POTF2 [Red/Green] Greedo figure. Simply, it’s a boring release and an unnecessary re-release of the screen-inaccurate action figure. Until they fix Greedo’s eyes from oblong to round or spherical, there is no hope for this 6-inch action figure.

Everyone complained when Hasbro released 2013’s The Black Series [Phase I] Greedo (#07) figure. What did they do to the poor Rodian’s eyes? But that’s not the figure’s only issue. Why are the figure’s legs so lanky and disproportionate to the rest of the body? Are those shoes accurate? Why can’t the figure hold anything in its left hand? Well, once again, Hasbro changed nothing but the figure’s paint job, and they placed it in awful packaging. For us, it’s a lose-lose situation. Why Hasbro decided that these particular action figures in this packaging style would be a hit to celebrate the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary is beyond us. The biggest problem here is that Greedo desperately needs some retooling to recreate the on-screen character well. Also, the 6-inch version has grayish-tan shoes. Is that from the film? Still, we imagine that if you’re a relatively new collector to The Black Series 6-inch line, you may need a chance to add Greedo to your collection. But if you do need the figure, be prepared to pay a lot more money for it in 2021 than in 2013.

Greedo is accurately proportioned to the on-screen character. It has an athletic frame and can pass for either the male or female actors who played him in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The figure comes with a beautiful 28 points of articulation. This figure’s articulation system gives Greedo a decent amount of movement and allows you to interact with it in ways you never could in the 3.75-inch line. You can pose the figure in any configuration you desire. For accessories, Hasbro gave Greedo a removable belt/holster combination piece, a removable orange vest, and a blaster pistol. As you know, the head sculpt is excellent, but the eyes are a mess. The shape and profile of the head are perfect. So we’re not sure what went south with the eyes. It is astounding that Hasbro had multiple opportunities to correct it, and they’ve ignored this error every time. A figure’s portrait is the most critical factor of what makes an action figure lifelike and screen-accurate. We still can’t believe Hasbro is replicating the packaging from 1995 and 1996. It seems un-Maker-ly.
