Echo was a soldier in the Grand Army of the Republic, known for his strict adherence to orders and rules — hence, his nickname, which was sarcastically gifted by his clone brothers.

Echo has quite the history in the Star Wars timeline, and the most recent entry is during the events surrounding The Bad Batch, also known as Clone Force 99. Hasbro has made all the main characters in this series a priority in The Black Series 6-inch line while ignoring the entire main cast in The Vintage Collection super-articulated 3.75-inch line. While unfortunate, collectors hope that Hasbro will take the digital files of the 6-inch scaled figure as templates for The Vintage Collection versions, but only time will tell if this ever comes to fruition. The Black Series 6-inch Echo is a great release. Whether you like the entertainment from the Disney Star Wars era, Hasbro still makes excellent action figures, and Echo further testifies to this assertion. Echo fits in well with the rest of The Bad Batch characters produced to date. With primarily new tooling, collectors can genuinely celebrate the figure’s release, as it's another fine addition to the lineup.

Echo comes loaded with articulation. Hasbro sets the bar high in how they add joints to their action figures. And they’re finding new and innovative ways to add them into the tooling of action figures where they appear hidden. This approach is also made here for Echo. The buttery-smooth movement of the knee joints is stellar, and you don’t notice the joints there, until you begin to articulate the points. Echo is ghost-like in appearance, much more like an action figure than how the character appeared in The Bad Batch series. The eerie skin color is gray, and the deadness of the expression is a work of art, and the homage paid to Lobot in this character is nothing short of brilliant. Echo comes with one of the most distinct helmets in The Black Series line. It almost wraps around the figure’s head instead of fitting like a bucket. It’s also close-fitting and looks to scale with the figure’s portrait. You’re going to love what Hasbro did here.

Echo comes with a solid amount of accessories too. You know about the helmet, but Hasbro also included a few other goodies to keep the character screen accurate while offering some interchangeability for play and display value. The most notable accessory here is the removable forearm claw attachment. It fits over a pointed, screwdriver-like arm plug and stays in place well when posing the figure. The claw doesn’t articulate, but it’s in an open position, so most likely, you’ll use it when in action poses. You can recreate some of the character’s calmer moments when not used on the figure. Hasbro also included a removable backpack. It’s highly detailed and has two antennae sticking out of the top. It has a slightly loose fit but stays in place for posing and whatever else you need it to do. Lastly, Hasbro included a small blaster pistol. The figure has one holster to store it when not in use, so that is good, too. Overall, Echo is a fantastic release. You’re going to love it.
