Once regarded as one of the most fearsome and capable bounty hunters in the galaxy, Boba Fett seemingly met his demise in the Sarlacc pit. A survivor to the core, Fett lived to fight another day.

Not many Star Wars fans found favor with The Book Of Boba Fett. And now that the series is over, it’s the perfect time to get action figures based on the characters from the series in the Hasbro Star Wars line. Not all of them will be wise choices for the line, but a guaranteed sell is Boba Fett. The beloved bounty hunter remains a collector’s favorite action figure, and no matter the source, the action figures always do well at the retail level. A little older, a little fuller, and a tad crankier, Boba Fett (Throne Room) shows us a version of Boba Fett after he rises again out of the Sarlacc pit and takes control of Jabba’s palace after the assassination of Bib Fortuna. The figure looks excellent but tweaks the way we remember seeing the character, with baggy pants and the same chest armor and jetpack from Return Of The Jedi. Hasbro also decided to “smoke and mirror” this release by fooling collectors it’s a “Deluxe” figure. It’s not. Boba Fett (Throne Room) is the equivalent of any other basic 6-inch action figure. And as we’ve blatantly accused in the past, this format is a scam, and Hasbro should be ashamed. That said, the figure is pretty nice.

After Boba Fett pulled himself out of the Sarlacc pit, he was near death and was in such a state that the Jawas stripped him of his armor. A while later, the Tusken Raiders rescued him, and Star Wars fans soon learned the varying aggression levels in the tribes in the Tusken Raider migratory species. Needing something to wear and arm himself with, Boba Fett’s time with the Tusken Raiders is where he received the robe, sniper rifle, and gaderffi stick (and other weapons). Based on these scenes, Hasbro created a “Tython” version of the character. Then before Boba Fett got his armor back, he traveled with Fennec Shand to Jabba’s Palace on Tatooine to “steal back” the Slave I. And in the interim, Din Djarin confiscated the armor Cobb Vanth purchased from the Jawas and explained it wasn’t his. Boba Fett flew to Tython when the armor was finally returned to him. This iteration of Boba Fett jogs our memories of the character from Return of The Jedi. The helmet, chest armor, and gauntlets allow you to reminisce when Star Wars was good, and you’re able to appreciate the modern figure a whole lot more.

The figure is excellent. Hasbro beautifully captured the aged appearance of actor Temura Morrison, although we don’t think that the character of Boba Fett would believably be that old after escaping the Sarlacc pit. The figure contains mostly all-new tooling but borrows portions of the Tython figure when applicable. Like the on-screen character, Boba Fett (Throne Room) has many scars on the face and some skin issues that Hasbro did their best to add to the figure’s head sculpt. The skin color also looks accurate to us. The figure has lower robes, but they’re flexible, and we didn’t encounter any issue with posing the figure in various ways, including kneeling and “running.” The figure comes with an impressive 30 points of articulation, so you can expect ease with posing. Boba Fett (Throne Room) is well accessorized, and we counted four separate parts, one accessory less than the non-Deluxe version, hence a scam. But Hasbro ensured they spread them out in the extra-large box to make you think you’re getting more than what’s included. It’s pure deception. Shame, Hasbro. Shame! It’s a nice figure, but you’re going to be mad that Hasbro wants you to pay more for it.
