We finally get a realistically-styled Sabine Wren action figure in The Vintage Collection based on the character's appearance in Ahsoka and not Rebels. Too many collectors will not mind as they kept the character mostly faithful throughout the Star Wars saga. The all-new Sabine Wren has a likeness similar to the live-action DIsney+ series, so she looks pretty different from how she appeared in Rebels. However, the costume, weaponry, and the character's faithful spray paint gun all help solidify who this action figure is and how it will make a lovely addition to your Star Wars action figure collection. Sabine Wren, unfortunately, gets released as a "Deluxe" figure, but we don't feel there is anything "deluxe" about it. As of late, whenever Hasbro has to produce an all-new action figure, they must release it in a package that will command a higher MSRP. Unfortunately, collectors get tasked with covering Hasbro's tooling costs, but this is the new collecting era in which we live. It's expensive to cost-prohibitive, and we only get the characters we want in a few-but-far-between fashion. However, Sabine Wren is an action figure that many want to add to their collections, so we'll consider this a victory.
Sabine Wren comes with a remarkable 27 points of articulation. The action figure achieves whichever pose you want and holds its center of gravity balanced in some aggressive poses. What you can achieve here is astounding, and that's all because Hasbro produces remarkable action figures that are masterpieces in their long line of action figure-making. Of course, Sabine Wren has a stunning articulation system, but the figure's paint operations are second to none. All of us know how colorful Sabine Wren's outfits are, and Hasbro did a brilliant job of capturing the blending of colors well. You will see precision and accuracy employed here. And whether you're focusing on the armor or the helmet, you'll discover the small miracles Hasbro achieves in The Vintage Collection. We have quickly come so far in this line that it's challenging to process the enormous strides taken in little time. The head sculpt is beautiful. We're not crazy about the purple hair because of what that often symbolizes in culture, but it works for a Star Wars character, and we're happy to say we give that attention to detail a pass, too. The Photo Real deco looks terrific, and we cannot believe how lifelike these miniature portraits look from this Hasbro-created paint application. It's a genius creation, making our action figure look incredible.
Sabine Wren comes with eight accessories. The most prominent accessory is Sabine's Loth-cat. It's a cute creature that fits well in this action figure set. We're still determining how strong Sabine's relationship is to the Loth-cat, but we're confident it's notable if Hasbro included it here. We also get a green-lit lightsaber and a corresponding hilt. Hasbro no longer doesn't do removable lightsaber blades in the 3.75-inch line, and that's alright with us. Thankfully, they include a separate hilt accessory to make up that difference. We also get Sabine's signature spray paint gun. It fits nicely into the figure's hands. Then, Hasbro gave us two Mandalorian blasters, each with a different colored trim. The left blaster pistol has yellow highlights, and the right blaster pistol has blue highlights. There must be a reason for this because Sabine Wren greatly enjoys color. The final accessory is a pouch. It fits over Sabine Wren's body and hangs over the figure's right side. It's an excellent addition to this action figure and helps tell a different story than what we're accustomed to concerning this character. Overall, the Sabine Wren Deluxe set is lovely. But we should have received the figure and all the included accessories for at most $17.99. If Hasbro doesn't watch its price-gouging, it may be too late for them if they price everyone out of this hobby.
