Just like they were when you were a kid, only BIGGER! Gentle Giant is proud to debut their new line of vintage Star Wars Action figure reproductions with the release of this classic Empire Strikes Back Boba Fett.

Digitally scanned from mint 3 ¾" Kenner originals and reproduced to a substantial 12" tall. Nothing has been overlooked. Injection molded and made of durable plastics, this jumbo figure includes a faithfully reproduced blaster and is fully articulated! That's not all, this classic Kenner creation comes packaged on a 1980, Empire Strikes Back inspired blister card with a plastic outer clam shell to help protect and display this limited edition convention exclusive!

If you only buy one Jumbo Vintage Kenner Figure this year, make sure it's Boba Fett because it is awesome! Rendering us speechless again, the Jumbo Vintage Kenner Boba Fett is absolutely too much to take in because it messes with your head in ways that are nearly unexplainable. You get a rush, you are instantly taken back to somewhere between 1979 and 1984 and it makes you recall all of the play dates you had with your childhood buddies in a powerfully nostalgic way. So is Gentle Giant Ltd.. cleverly playing on our emotions? We think "yes". As a collectible that is designed for "true" (we don't mean to be pious) collectors from the vintage era, the Jumbo Vintage Kenner Figure line indirectly is alienating what the hardcore people call "Johnny-come-latelies". And this is a good thing. With a very limited run, this may be the only time to grab these ultimately awesome and breathtaking large size action figures. Many people who grew up with the Prequel Trilogy may not even understand the connection to the vintage line. As sad as this is, it's just the nature of growing up in different times. But as important as the neo-classic collectors are in the Star Wars collecting family, you may not be able to comprehend why a anything "vintage looking" is so important. But it is!

Because Boba Fett is probably one of the top three most popular Star Wars characters ever, we are assuming that this may be the hardest one in the lot to get into your collections. Gentle Giant Ltd.. mastered the paint job on Boba Fett remarkably well. They neglected to paint the tool in Boba's right leg shin pocket, but other than that the paint job is flawless. The base figure has been cast in that memorable gray/blue color and the green chest armor and other colors are also matched with incredible precision to the vintage 3.75" action figure. The same five points of articulation have been incorporated into the large sculpt and even the gun is cast in that slightly bluish black shade of plastic. Interestingly, the large size figure holds the gun about as well as the vintage figure. That is quite a statement isn't it? When you turn Boba Fett around you will immediately crack a smile on your face. The red rocket (that doesn't remove from the figure even in super-deluxe scale) is glued right in place just like the [corrected] vintage figure. This is also another powerful experience or interaction you will have with this figure.

The Jumbo Vintage Kenner Figure line is certainly tugging at the hearts of collectors who grew up with the smaller versions of these figures and their packaging a long time ago. And Gentle Giant Ltd.. is really doing them justice by giving them extraordinary paint jobs and dead to rights proportions thanks to their revolutionary digital scanning technology. These high-end collectibles certainly won't appeal to everyone's tastes, but we bet that most who grew up with the original vintage line will remain enamored with them. We personally are developing an unhealthy obsession with them already and cannot wait to see how far they will take the line. Can you imagine a blue Snaggletooth in this scale? We can. And we hope for some other cool classic figures in huge scale like Amanaman and Luke Skywalker (In Stormtrooper Disguise). But we should take these as they come because they are certainly expensive. Licensed from Hasbro, we are curious to know why Hasbro hasn’t taken the initiative to do something like this. They could certainly create them for substantially less. But at least someone is doing them. And Boba Fett is a sign of great things to come!
