Super Battle Droid - TBS [P4] - Six Inch Figures (AOTC06)

It took Hasbro long enough to produce one of the most iconic characters from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones, but the long wait has been worth it thanks to the brilliant action figure Hasbro produced for the character. Many collectors were quick to complain about the scale of the Super Battle Droid, but according to our records, the figure is perfectly proportioned. Remarkably, Hasbro worked in 26 points of articulation into the Super Battle Droid, and the figure has an inordinate amount of movement. We bet you didn’t think you’d ever be able to make a Super Battle Droid kneel, did you? Well, this action figure can do it all. The figure comes with a wealth of insert-molded ball joints, which give a wide range of motion for your more action-oriented poses. While not many, the features here give the figure some uniqueness we haven’t seen applied to this character in the basic figure line. The “faceplate” is removable, as is the chest plate. Underneath them are intricate details, including a red eye, perhaps a central processing unit, which gives the character an otherworldly and eerie presence, and a white button and other things. Hasbro also threw in a blast effect, which attaches nicely to the figure’s right arm cannon. It’s slightly frustrating to apply to the figure, but you can make it stay in place as needed with patience. We would have loved to see a blaster pistol included here, but you know how Hasbro is with accessories. The Super Battle Droid appears perfectly colored to us, although we would have loved to see more battle damage added here to give the figure uniqueness and distinction. The joints are tight, so we anticipate that this figure will maintain its multiple poses well. We can only hope that Hasbro takes this figure design and shrinks it down to a 3.75-inch scale where it belongs. Hasbro made some remarkable B2 battle droid action figures throughout the years, but this design takes the cake and deserves to be realized in The Vintage Collection at some point.
