Well, well, well. Hasbro has released another action figure to elate the barking and clapping seals. With some slight paint operation changes, a new name, and a new character photo, Hasbro releases a “new” version of Bo-Katan Kryze (Plazir-15) to flood the lineup with unnecessary releases. This release is the version where the character battles Moff Gideon. But do we need MORE Mandalorian action figures? And if we do, do they have to be straight repacks of what we already have? OK, OK. So Bo-Katan Kryze has a distinctly excellent sculpt. And Hasbro faithfully recreated the silhouette of the on-screen character wonderfully. And they ensured they perfectly recreated every curve and contour. The figure comes with two interchangeable portraits, which The Vintage Collection collectors only dream of receiving from Hasbro. But this tooling exists, so we should have those expectations. We are happy to receive a second portrait with this figure, but we’re unsure whether Hasbro nailed the helmet’s shape. It feels a little too flat-faced, in our opinion, but we could also be nitpicking here a little bit. Despite this, Hasbro recreated the deco beautifully on the helmet, and we have no complaints about the paint job. When you have the un-helmeted portrait on, the helmeted portrait fits into the figure’s hands and if it’s holding it. Another excellent design is the holster. Hasbro tooled them so they could hold onto the blaster pistols tightly and not easily fall out if you want to pose or move the figure. This functionality is a small detail, but it’s important to collectors. The jetpack also nicely plugs into the back of the action figure. Here is a darksaber accessory (for this figure – we’ve seen it released with other characters). Anyway, when we received this figure, we yawned. The Vintage Collection is becoming so stale and boring that it will take an all-new Cantina alien to wake us up and get excited for the line again. Pause the demonic Disney Star Wars focus, Hasbro. It’s insufferable at this point.
